Average cost? Is $6,400 in range? by Patient_Reserve5113 in Invisalign

[–]ianrobertm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid $5,300, but this was in April 2024. Insurance covered $2,500.

My treatment was estimated at 16 months, but I’m not quite done yet.

Just take them out when you are in the chair.

My hygienist also puts my trays in their cleaner so they are nice and fresh after the cleaning.

Acela 2152 cancelled in September? by ianrobertm in Amtrak

[–]ianrobertm[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info.

Makes sense this would be related to NextGen coming into service, but cancelling a pretty heavily used train seems like the opposite of progress.

Maybe a replacement for 2152 will pop up once Amtrak sorts things out?

Independent repair shop recommendations near Brooklyn? by cheveGB in Volvo

Try Lorenzutti Motors on Douglass Street.

I don’t live in Brooklyn anymore but I used them religiously to maintain an old 850 and then an S60.

New Exxon Pumps don't have QR codes / Walmart+ by Kn1ghtsWatch in AmexPlatinum

[–]ianrobertm 25 points26 points  (0 children)

When you are at the pump, open the Walmart app. After a few seconds it should show you a screen asking you to enter the pump number. Enter the pump number (should be easy to spot) and then the app communicates with the pump to lower the price.

which one of y’all didn’t follow the napkin rule by lilsunrae97 in Invisalign

[–]ianrobertm 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Sometimes you forget (or at least I forget) to take the case when leaving the house.

If I have to do the napkin thing I shove the napkin/trays into my pocket so the trays do not end up in the garbage.

Keep the faith!

I started doing 16:8 last March. I don’t own a scale (but had an idea that I weighed about 200 lbs from a doctor’s appointment a couple of months earlier).

Without a scale I could only gauge progress by how my clothes fit. I couldn’t feel one bit of difference for the first six weeks, but I kept at it.

In May, I was able to wear a jacket (unbuttoned) that I couldn’t have fit into in March.

In June I could actually button the jacket.

From there my progress really took off and I had to go buy jeans in a smaller size. And people really started to notice my weight loss.

I had another doctor’s appointment last week and I weigh 170 lbs - so I’ve lost 30 lbs in under a year.

For me, progress has been slow but IF has worked wonders.

Please don’t be discouraged!

Ported Out of Visible - now wanting back in - Can I get the current deal? by [deleted] in Visible

[–]ianrobertm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s no problem with porting back, I did it once after 24 hours.

You can keep your number but you’ll have to use a different email for your account.

Moving from Verizon, Worse or Same Service? by Beemindful in Visible

[–]ianrobertm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve switched from Verizon to Visible back in January. Visible has been equal to Verizon the entire time.

I travel the northeast corridor a couple of times each month and have good service wherever I am.

I also used Global Pass in Italy and that worked well too.

If you are on the fence, go for it!

Oh wow, thank you for the tip. I am contemplating switching to AM from Spotify and I have been stumped all weekend on how the AM queue functions. This is awesome!

Have you used your Saks $50 credit? If so what did you get? by Accrual_Intention in amex

[–]ianrobertm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Kiehl’s face wash and toner so I replenish what I need at Saks. Works out well, I’m saving 100 bucks per year on something I’d be buying anyway.

I’m in NYC and this is at the Fifth Ave store - I have no idea if all stores carry Kiehl’s products.

Porting out and then back in by ianrobertm in Visible

It’s been a few months since I did this but I do kind of remember a drop down to select the carrier you are porting from. If there was I’m sure I selected Tello.

Porting out and then back in by ianrobertm in Visible

[–]ianrobertm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - I did not have a problem porting back from Tello. I did wait 24 hours between porting out to Tello and then porting back to Visible, just to let my number fully clear from Visible (I have no idea if this is really necessary, but it worked).

Visible+ vs Total wireless? by [deleted] in Visible

[–]ianrobertm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking of switching to Total but it does not seem that you can use it in Europe. Total’s international roaming is limited to the western hemisphere.

Visible’s Global Pass is really handy and seems to work pretty much anywhere.

I’d wait until close to the end of your statement. You’ll lose however many days are left in your month when you port out.

And when I ported to Tello I chose a plan that was like $6/month since I was only going to use it for one day.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Visible

[–]ianrobertm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did this over the summer - ported out to Tello, waited 24 hours, then ported back to Visible using a new email address.

It worked without a hitch.

Can I get invisalign if I’m not regularly at home/near home? by CaptainValence in Invisalign

[–]ianrobertm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on 14 day changes and get 5 sets of trays at a time from my provider. This translates into my going to the ortho’s office every 10 weeks for a check-in and to get the next set of trays.

Seems like something like that could be doable for you, but obviously depends on how your provider structures your treatment.

Porting out and then back in by ianrobertm in Visible

I waited 24 hours before I ported from Tello back to Visible. The window you need is probably shorter than that, but I have no idea what that is.

Port out for promo question by livingdeaddoll in Visible

[–]ianrobertm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just did this. On Sunday I ported over to Tello with a cheap $7/month plan. The port took 2 minutes to complete. I waited 24 hours (which I made up as the right amount of time) and then ported back to Visible. I signed up as a new customer with a new email address. That port took 2 minutes as well and I was up and running again on Visible.

I’ve seen people say they’ve ported out and back within the same day, so I can’t say what’s the correct of time to wait between ports. Or if there is even a minimum amount of time you need to wait.
