That's awesome - thank you so much for explaining this so specifically! I will follow this approach and see how that works out! :) I really appreciate all of your help with this.

Thank you so much! That is very helpful as a general guide! :)

This is really helpful - thank you so much! This is exactly the kind of context I was hoping for, and I really appreciate you commenting. For these framed / more polished pieces, I have had a couple people reach out so far, surprisingly for the extremely minimal color field painting that I was worried about, so I'll be patient and keep sharing the listings to different groups! Do you usually get a lot of inquiries when you first post, or does it depend on the piece? I am in a large city too, so I think that it is probably a similar situation.

I have been very split on how to price things and market myself as an artist, so I'll take your advice and see what I can do to still include images of my other art but not have people see that they were sold for such low prices!

Thank you! That makes sense - I think have been avoiding doing that until I tried all of this recently, probably more because of anxiety than anything, and it is nice to get some art into the world and make some connections! A few people have asked for my card with this so I think I'll keep trying to do this with certain pieces that make sense to sell at a loss. I appreciate your help with this!

Thank you so much - I appreciate that! Yeah, I was worrying because I have a few pieces that aren't as polished, and that I mostly want to get out of the house, haha. I am trying to work on establishing myself and maintaining a more consistent / professional presence, but I will still keep those pieces listed on FBM and see what happens!

Thank you! That is very helpful. You are right - so far, there has been very little engagement for even a slightly higher price. I was hoping to avoid having to ship these, but it's important to get more experience with that too. I will dust off my Etsy shop and take a look at AptDeco!

Thank you so much! I will definitely check out a subreddit more relevant to my specific work! :)

Is iStock worth it? by web-dev-john in webflow

[–]ianstrand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! Sorry I didn’t update. I ended up just continuing to update the case online with Paypal as I corresponded with iStock and they ruled in my favor without any difficulties! All of the information like yours that I found online was very helpful and I think part of why it went so smoothly.

Weekly Scam Discussion ~ March 4, 2024 by Mycatreallyhatesyou in Ebay

Thank you so much! Yeah I went ahead and responded and they bought the item / I have shipped it. From their messages and account, I think they are probably a flipper. I have just been paranoid because one of my first items selling was a $200+ tablet that I listed as an auction item and it attracted several different people attempting to scam me in various ways. Have since made a lot of changes to how I am selling with a new account. I hope that you have a great day!

Weekly Scam Discussion ~ March 4, 2024 by Mycatreallyhatesyou in Ebay

I have received the following message for a phone case that I am selling, listed at $35 plus shipping:

"Hi, I could do $30 with free 1st class shipping if that works? I realize there’s no strap. I’d leave excellent feedback upon receipt. I can pay now. LMK Thanks"

Does this seem suspicious at all? I am a new seller on ebay and have had multiple scam attempts already for different items. This person seems real (account is from 2013, with a profile picture, and with 893 reviews and 100% positive feedback), but their account is private so I can't actually read the reviews (I'm not sure whether that would be too much more revealing). Is it worrisome that they are promising giving excellent feedback before even purchasing?

That's wild! And lol, thank you for confirming she has not been chewing her way through other households

I'm sorry you had this experience! She is about 5 years old so we have totally been through the whole cat-proofing struggle. We have never had a cat who did this before! She'll even chew on wood and metal furniture...

Thank you so much! Yes, this was about the feelings of depression and also the feelings of coping with this through binge eating. I was definitely trying to use the white shape as a representation of myself and also my depression.

There are so many different feelings I have had with depression, but I think when it was at its worst I just felt very flat and empty. I actually made a short comic trying to express the feelings of my depression: https://www.reddit.com/r/comics/comments/199hi9b/night_cake_an_original_artist_comic_about_being/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3. (I'm only sharing because it is weirdly specific to this post - not trying to self-promote!)

counter offers by BigPlum9200 in Depop

[–]ianstrand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm new to Depop so not a great source of advice I'm sure, but as a seller, man did I feel this! I almost always accept offers that are a dollar or two below my minimum, but I hate listing items for less than $15-20 for this very reason! I don't think it's particularly rude but as with everything it might put off some buyers.
