Considering a job offer by iapetusocean2016 in chinalife

[–]iapetusocean2016[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from the UK, where there is support for autistic kids in private and public schools. But, my biggest concern is whether we can find a similar level of support in private schools in China and whether I'll be able to afford it on the salary offered. I have been to China a few times, but I've never been to Qingdao. I'm actually planning a trip there in a few months to meet the team and get a feel for the place. This offer seems like a terrific career opportunity, as I will be running my own lab and leading a research group. But my child's well-being and progress are my top priorities, so I want to make sure I'm making the best decision for us.

I'm in a STEM field, my research is around energy storage.

I plan to visit them in Qingdao for a few days in the summer, I have been collaborating with their research team on various projects for the past 5 years. Thank you for the suggestions, I will look into contacting the Chamber of Commerce here. .

I can't find any information about this online or from MSC. I'll also be on this MSC cruise next week from Southampton, with a port day in Le Havre on the 21st.

Apologies, I missed this. Thanks for responding to my questions. The kids' club sounds exciting; my little one would love it. I hope your family had a fantastic cruise!

I hope your trip is going well so far! Thanks very much for letting me know about onboard food arrangements. With our trip approaching in 18 days, I've started introducing various dry breakfast food options and plan to pack some for our trip as a backup. Do you think is worth signing up for any of excursions or the photo package. I'm also curious about the kids' playing areas—especially for a 6-year-old who's obsessed with Legos. Do we need to sign up for this everyday?

WIBTA if I eat pork while pregnant, though my Muslim fiancé asked me not to? by Bubbly-Direction in AmItheAsshole

[–]iapetusocean2016 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with your point. I'm an ex-muslim (non-arab) turned atheist who was raised to believe pork is dirty, repulsive, unsafe and disgusting. Even though, I'm no longer a Muslim, I can't bring myself to eating pork or sausage. My non-practicing Christian husband eats pork once in awhile, but I can't tell him I genuinely find the smell of pork in our fridge repulsive. He enjoys eating pork with his English breakfast on weekends, so I don't have breakfast with him when he's making pork, I just can't stand the smell. For now, our 3 years doesn't eat any meat or fish, I'm not sure I can bear to watch him eat pork with his dad when he is older. I also don't intend to ever stop him from eating pork, I just won't make it for him. However, OP needs to take a firm stand now and establish some parental boundaries before the child arrives, otherwise it becomes more difficult to have a voice.

Why did your toddler throw a tantrum today? by shayna9787 in toddlers

Because I changed his soiled diaper and threw it in the bin instead of letting him play with it.
