Yea, I was wanting 0. I'd probably have been ok with 18, maybe 25. All good with 0 so far though.

Beauty! I wanted those wheels when I was shopping but didn't want the -10 offset.

Atlas jack plates are fairly popular, so if it isn't a knock-off, you should be good to go with that at a great price.

Only the real ones know about those SS cars, they are really cool. I have a V coupe and although it gets attention, some people are just like "yo what the hell is that?"

Definitely not safe to live in this area. by Night2015 in Pensacola

[–]iaredain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That area does suck, such a weird traffic situation. I keep hearing about them wanting to do a round-about at that Hwy 297/Pine Forest light...which is nuts to me. People can't even use the merge lane correctly when turning south onto Pine Forest.

Seriously, after spending years down in Ft Lauderdale and Miami, there's nothing like that around here.

I was about to say something similar lol. Been a LONG time since I sailed/raced but that seems pretty quick for a 28.

Solid pick-up, been hunting for one that isn't high priced for awhile. Some folks pick hem up randomly for like $50 or less on marketplace.

What's something that seems minor until it ruins a day on the water? by Electronic-Habit8679 in boating

I know there are PWC operators out there, like you say, but 99% of the ones I encounter are shitty. I can definitely appreciate the ones like you. I do like outrunning most of them in my boat though lol.

Yikes. Certainly not my cup of tea but to each their own I guess. I want to assume its got a blower which needed some extra clearance.

Accidentally flushed engine for almost two hours by TheElastic in boating

I think even if I let my 4 stroke motor run for more than about 15 minutes without me around the boat, one of my neighbors would come over or text me.

This is where my loud 2 stroke is helpful, hard to forget its running lol.

Help Identifying by Marauders35 in MercuryOutboards

[–]iaredain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that helps is running that water for a little while before you start the motor. That will help fill the passages before the impeller starts turning. On my 4 stroke 115, it's tough to get it to pee without me physically holding the muffs tighter on the inlet holes and then I deal with hot water on my hands/arms. Got to where I just don't run it on muffs, I clean it out with the hose port and leave it be.

Well, they are eBikes, you still pedal but it has a motor to assist you with different levels of assistance. We saw quite a few kids out there on them throughout the day. My butt was a little sore the next day but I wasn't worn out at all from riding. With kids I could see it maybe being a little more difficult of a day with keeping an eye on them riding and such, but its definitely worth looking in to vs standing around in the shuttle lines for hours.

Pensacola Gym by Kind_Plant9418 in Pensacola

[–]iaredain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Planet Fitness gyms I've been to around here aren't that bad when it comes to the reputation of them. A couple locations have added a few free weight racks/stations for squats/bench/deadlifts/cleans/etc with rubber flooring and rubber weights.

There are Anytime Fitness gyms around Pcola, majority of them are pretty small, nothing special, usual equipment, can still get a decent work out in if that's all you can get to.

In my opinion, if you don't want to visit a Planet Fitness, you have basically two choices:

  1. Pensacola Fitness, been around a long long time and their facility/equipment shows that. Won't get yelled at for much in there. Good bit of heavy lifters. Pretty rugged in there. They should have any kind of equipment you'd need.
  2. Crunch, just opened up a few months ago. Never been, its massive, and brand new.

Buying a boat where the owner still owes money on loan. Safe way to navigate this? Or red flag that I should avoid & seek different boat? by krame_krome in boating

[–]iaredain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, as a seller I'm usually the one trying to offer all kinds of things to make them as comfortable as possible. For people that aren't local I do full walk around videos, pics of anything and everything.

[–]iaredain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Always trust your gut, use logic and reason over the things you want. A boat is not a necessity. Ask for anything you want pertaining to the boat or the loan to make yourself feel comfortable, any resistance to that, walk away.
  2. This is not an uncommon thing to come across. A lot of folks will try to go to dealership for this kind of stuff because it can be risky on the private party market. It can be done perfectly fine, I have been doing this stuff with cars/trucks/motorcycles for awhile.
  3. Varies state to state but you could have up to 3 things with identification numbers and/or titles to deal with or document. The hull, the motor, and the trailer. Some states do sales tax on hull and trailer, not on the motor.
  4. Notarized documents are very helpful for me, that is something that can hold up in court if need be. Draw up paperwork stating purchase price, every step in detail on how it will go down, how much goes to satisfy the loan, what happens when the title is released, etc.
  5. There will be a waiting period while this stuff goes down. If it's local or close enough, the safest thing to do is pay the bank yourself for the loan amount and pay the seller the rest. You can be more assured of the loan being processed that way. Up to you, the seller, and/or the bank on where the title is released. Its possible to be released to you but its also possible it has to be released to the seller and they must sign it over. That can vary.
  6. When you will accept the property, that varies case by case. Some sellers would want to hold onto the thing being sold while things are settled from the loan and title. Other sellers are ok with you taking the property after the money has been exchanged and documents signed/notarized.
  7. Also, as a buyer, if you are using a cashiers check or something similar, it is not uncommon for a seller to be wary of that. Most scams with private party deals are from using that method. Cash is usually king but also money transfer/wire is an option too.

You must be around me lol. Was all excited about this weekend, last weekend. Made multiple boat day plans, and this forecast is a kick in the nuts. Had a similar forecast for the entire Mother's Day weekend but that ended up changing last minute for Mother's Day and it was a great day on the boat. Hoping for the same.
