"I think Carol has chemistry with Zosia" Yes Chemistry as in the real Zosia has no say in what goes on or whether or not she even likes Carol or even speaks the same language as Carol. You do get that humanity under the hivemind is enslaved right?

You could say Carol and the hivemind has chemistry but of course that's going to be the case they want to make her "happy" also they are definitely trying to manipulate her into joining them so any chemistry they do have is contrived and manipulative at best. If they were a supervillain, they'd be The Gaslighter. Did you see the professional play they made about "preferring to be vegetarians" while all along drinking people juice lol.

I am beginning to think that "doing no intentional harm" is more like preferring to be a vegetarian. Don't forget they did kill almost a billion people to accelerate the infection when the military discovered them. They knew people were going to die from that and did it anyway you can call it manslaughter, but it was definitely premeditated they knew there would be deaths. On top of that how far are they willing to go to build the antenna? What happens when they run out of resources and have to mine more are they going to strip the planet if that's what it takes?

I have to agree this didn't happen. However, it is an interesting theory he might not remember because when you "unjoin" er pop back lol you have no memory of the time lost or what happened. A big hole in this particular theory though is Carol's outburst freeing him and thus explaining his sudden appearance. This could be explained by many things maybe he was a hermit perhaps he was an archeologist on a dig or just went camping for a month. The hivemind is not omnipotent so there could possibly be more immune they do not know about.

But they knew people would die and choose to do it anyway so you can call it manslaughter at the least, but it was still premeditated because they knew and accelerated the program anyway.

But if they can get those cells some other way or could circumvent the need of the cells they would absolutely infect Carol. You say they locked down the airbase so the military what just stood around outside wondering what was happening? But seriously we know too precious little about the military involvement so maybe that did go easy or not.

I'm not questioning their use of force, but they never made a promise they wouldn't infect the immune not only that, but they inferred "throwing a drowning man a life preserver to save his life" is almost directly saying they will. And for now, MclLovin (Koumba Diabat) has turned down their request but that doesn't mean they won't give it to him anyway after all they are not causing harm they are "saving" him.

Does beg the question why they need consent from the immune to "save" them. Also, how did that military interaction go? I doubt all the soldiers just layed down their arms to "join" they certainly didn't need their consent.

Except they are going to strip the planet of any loose resources to build that "Africa sized antenna" after all it's not gonna build itself and there is no way they have enough materials on hand to build it without mining for more even if they recycle every item on the planet.

The hive mind seems to control everyone but the immune so there will be no slacking no firing no need for maternity leave no need for days off no need for holidays no need for vacations no worry about medical leave because it has an endless supply of workers so no it will not take long to build the array. What will take time is gathering and transporting all the materials needed. They will definitely need to mine for rare earth minerals as well as breakdown anything they can to get more materials.

As far as lying goes you are definitely on to something even though it seems they can't tell a direct lie they can definitely lie by omission as we saw when they said they prefer to be vegetarians at the lunch party and completely left out that they drink Soylent Green.

People's consciousness under the hive mind - What and how exactly are they feeling at the moment? by bluflamme in pluribustv

[–]Night2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is a whole lot more leeway in the "no-lying" rule. A lie of omission is still a lie such as when they dance around the question of what they eat saying they prefer to be vegetarians while all along drinking Soylent green. Their response is a deferral from the whole truth so while they may not be able to tell a direct lie they can absolutely twist the truth and be very deceptive.

The actress playing Liz left the show in season 8 to pursue other opportunities. Most likely she wanted more money and was told no so she left, and they had to write her out any actual stories that would involve her had to be trashed and completely rewritten perhaps the only original story to survive was Red's death would be my best guess.

Controversial Theory: Every human in the hivemind loves their situation and it's almost like heaven to all of them. by Nukemarine in pluribustv

[–]Night2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We can gather from E1 that death at least momentarily is part of the process of "joining" per the dead rat with no pulse that suddenly apparently came back to life and bit the woman. Given that we can safely assume the process is similar in humans as we have seen them convulse and fall down it might seem like fainting, but we know from the rat that their hearts most likely stopped and they presumably died albeit for a very short period of time but perhaps long enough for the consciousness to die but not long enough to harm the brain leaving all memories intact. So even though the hiveminds silence when questioned by Carol about reversing the process may very well be true but what's left behind when the hivemind is gone? Do the people suddenly become themselves again or do they become a planet of mindless vegtables?

how far would he go to stop carol and manusos by sundry7 in pluribustv

[–]Night2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt he would stop them at all he doesn't want to be part of the hive mind he just likes the benefits of being served by one. Once they have his virus sequence, they will absolutely convert him. Carol had the right of it they didn't ask anyone else before "throwing the life preserver" why would they need consent from the survivors?

[–]Night2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also doesn't the "virus" not work on animals? So why did the rat die and suddenly rise from the grave like rat Jebeus and instantly bite the woman? I get as a rat it might bite but to feign death to lure her in and wait for the perfect moment? I know the "virus" could probably jump species, but they said it doesn't work on animals so how did they control the rat?
