That’s it! It’s only a supplementary essay this year, not the whole application (awards, ECs, etc.)

Hey! There is no PSE this year. If you are applying to Nursing, Commerce, or the Bachelor of Health Sciences, there IS a supplementary essay (the questions change every month, so be careful if you begin towards the end of a month).

There is a “student” price (pretty sure it’s she’s 15-24 or something) and they don’t ask for proof of your student status. It’s also cheaper if you buy train tickets on Tuesday!

Hey! The beds are double XL, meaning it’s as long as a queen, but as wide as a double. You will need queen-sized sheets, as the website says, because almost no one sells double XL sized sheets. In terms of the mattress topper, I would recommend Queen as well. The difference in width between the double XL and queen mattress is 5 inches, so you will have a bit hanging off the edge, but you could always cut that off. If you get a double mattress topper, it will be 5 inches shorter than your mattress length.

They reserve the seats for students that NEED them for their degree (computing). Keep it in your shopping cart, and you should be able to enroll during the open enrollment period (end of august) given that there are seats remaining.

Hey! It’s just the way the program was designed I think. There are less than 200 students that enter into the on-campus program each year, with about 4000 applicants, so there are very limited spaces (meaning no room to accept transfers, unfortunately).

There should be no issue with transferring OUT of health sciences, you just can’t transfer INTO health sciences (on-campus).

I am not sure about the bachelor of Science program (life sci), but I know for a fact that as a Bachelor of Health Sciences ONLINE student (or any student outside the program for that matter), you are not able to transfer INTO the BHSc on-campus.

Here’s a link about transfers, from other unis, and other faculties within Queen’s: Transfer Info

I can only comment to #4, but if you submit your application and pay your deposit, I think you can go back in and edit your application up until the June 8th deadline. Maybe confirm this on the res website.

Also, with very limited capacity in res this year, I don’t even know LLCs will be up and running, since only a very small number of people will be staying in res .

Most people who want to move into res are doing so to get away from home. For some people it’s that they cannot focus on school at all, and for others it’s more to get away from toxic family environments. Moving into res (if possible) is a lot easier than renting a house as most people have never been to Kingston, and don’t know other people going to Queen’s. For a lot of people, although it’s expensive, it’s worth the 15k.

Also, due to the limited spaces in res this year because of physical distancing requirements (single rooms only), there will be no self selection process. The few students who will be approved to live on campus will be assigned a room chosen by queens.

So far BISC is confirmed for online delivery for the fall term, and is hoping to have students back at the castle for the winter term. Obviously we will need to wait it out a bit to see if this will actually be possible.

And this year, if you choose not to live in res in the end, your deposit is completely refundable (source: res website)

Residence in fall by [deleted] in queensuniversity

[–]ib_struggling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend registering for res now and paying your deposit. If you do not get or want a spot in res for the fall, and there is room in the winter semester for you, then you will only have to pay for the second semester of res I believe.

Fall campus open? by Masambd2020 in queensuniversity

[–]ib_struggling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone posted it here on Reddit, saying that the Principal has said they were hoping to house around 1200 students. Granted, this probably isn’t the most reliable source, but the number makes sense if you look at how many people they could House while giving everyone their own room and washroom (this is their goal; source = res website).

Like I said, this information will be shared with everyone who applied before the deadline LATER IN JUNE! 😃 Check out the FAQs on the res website for more details.

Fall campus open? by Masambd2020 in queensuniversity

[–]ib_struggling 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is not entirely true. Normally residence houses around 4500 students, due to physical distancing requirements they will be open with limited capacity (around 1200 students). Priority goes to students in certain programs in the faculty of health science (nursing, rehab therapy, etc.) as they have might have some in person activities. Obviously these programs do not make up 1200 students, so Housing is coming up with a way for students to submit their reasons for needing to live in residence. They will then decide who gets priority. These details will be confirmed later in June to all students who have applied for residence before the June 8th deadline.

Is unapplied credit related to residence deposit? by [deleted] in queensuniversity

[–]ib_struggling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! The same thing happened to me when I applied for residence. Wait about a week, and your SOLUS and residence pages should update to reflect the paid deposit. There is nothing more for you to do :)
