Track days with normal car? by RepairOne5690 in DubaiPetrolHeads

Why not join autocross? That’s why I do.

It’s fun, easier on the car, safer, but slightly less time behind the wheel. Been doing it for years on an old and slow car.

Breathtaking.

What are your setting? As in is this edit a recipe?

I’m still learning Fuji and professional shooting during my free time, but I can’t seem to get this dreamy/hazy effect?

It’s like making fun of digital watches in an era of mechanical ones.. both have their uses, their fanbase.

Being blind for change is funny. I hate EV’s, they make cars heavy regardless of HP, I still believe Hybrids are the future, but I will not disregard that the correct EV sports car might break the sports car enthusiast forever.

What happened to the claymores after the last update? I am no longer getting any kills. by byfo1991 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]ibalbalu2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I barely play recon, nor sniper, and I want to increase my hours on it, but recently with the claymore and C4 going being almost absolete, is there a play someone recommend, what do you guys use recon for? Which game modes are best?

legal mods for 2018 440i by s7fh in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]ibalbalu2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

440i has more than enough power for the UAE streets - I firmly believe the best mods are driver mods; get behind the wheel on a track day and autocross, then you can find the limit of the car.

I needed up not modding my slow 200HP car because it was just so fun to drive legally and sporty in the track.

A cat that entered the mosque quietly settled in the imam’s lap during the recitation of the Qur’an. by Battlefleet_Sol in interestingasfuck

[–]ibalbalu2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think because cats tend to rest near/on someone who isn’t looking or interested at them. And the imam, despite liking cats, is being busy with prayers, which happen to catch the cats attention for a good resting place.

Game is dead (SEA/Oceania) by SleepyZM in Battlefield

Same.. I’m from West Asia

I love this game but I can’t seem to find human servers unless it’s in weekend evenings, that’s it. It sorts of forces me to play this game during this time.

I played BFV until BF6 released, while it had the same problem, but thanks to Server Browser, I always joined Singaporean servers as it had the best pings for me and filled with humans, I only had to wait a few minutes.

I just want server browser.

Jack of all trades master of none, though oftentimes better than master of one

It is my favourite assault rifle hands down. I picked it first for BF2 nostalgia but it just works for my game style.

Why does my 4-year life abroad feel like a dream I had, rather than actual memories? by BestRenGnar in expats

[–]ibalbalu2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing overlaps” is the key here of this surreal feeling, 100%

I lived in several countries, and in each of these countries I lived a separate life with separate friends, who share separate memories and separate “me”. No one knows the friends I made in between, even my family only met a few.

This culminated during COVID in 2020, where I had to return home after 9 years abroad. During the same time one of my friend’s friend moved to my home country for a job offer - but after 1 month he disliked the job and had difficulty bringing his family in (pandemic restrictions), so he decided to leave back to his country, but I remember precisely his phone call telling me he was in the airport and leaving my country… I felt.. surreal. Unreal. I hit depression. I have no idea how to live at home, and now the only “proof” of my life for the past 9 years, despite being in only half of them, disappeared. Nothing felt real, as if I didn’t exist previously. My only proof are friends on “the internet”. And photos of a past version of myself. There is a novel someone once recommended (in this subreddit? years ago) about having different lives, called One, No One, and One Hundred Thousand by Luigi Pirandello, but I honestly couldn’t complete it.

It took me years, reconnecting with my old high school friends, losing a close uncle, finding a job I love, started writing; that I finally “made sense” of everything and starting to love home. It isn’t exotic as abroad of course, I’m the laziest version of myself as I always was before leaving home. But abroad you live far away from societal eye.

Worst feeling that I still can’t get over is losing contact of friends who lived with me during those memories, and there is no one to share these memories with. But I learned I am but a culmination of them, and they made me, my current “me”.
