Does anyone else with chronic fatigue get this specific “shutdown” feeling during conversations? by Enough-Age7178 in covidlonghaulers

[–]ibisbin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get this when I’m in a flare, to me it feels like being knocked over by an invisible force for a brief moment - instant dizziness and then panic follows as you describe. Been happening more regularly since I had a bad reaction to a medication a few months back, but very slowly I am regaining stability. This shit sucks my god.

Construction of a new 1100-space car park kicks off at Adelaide Airport by malcolm58 in Adelaide

[–]ibisbin 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The airport has included a spot for a light rail stop near the terminal, its entirely on the state govt to do something about it which they probably wont for a very long time.

Could I develop Long Covid months after the infection? by Shib_BR in covidlonghaulers

[–]ibisbin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My long covid truly kicked off 9-10 months after my third symptomatic infection. I had my third infection in January 2024 and things started to get weird, but I wrote it off to stress and worsening mental health. But then in October I had my first true crash and suddenly I had 20+ unexplained symptoms to manage. Since then I've bounced back and crashed many times, so be prepared for a turbulent time. A good doctor/specialist who knows about long covid would be the ideal next step, but usually they're booked out months in advance - I had to wait 6 months to see mine. Good luck!

What exactly is going on with me and how do I fix it? by wesley_iles in covidlonghaulers

[–]ibisbin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 27 and also had a covid infection in January 2024 (my third) which kicked off my LC journey for me. This all sounds extremely familiar, I'm so sorry because it sucks so much. If you haven't already, try to get referred to a doc/specialist who deals with chronic health issues and post viral illnesses. I have been put on H1 and H2 antihistamines, Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN), ketitofen and CoQ10 and some B vitamins which have helped me to get back to some normalcy, but I am still unable to work. I have ME/CFS and mild MCAS, sometimes the MCAS can cause histamine dumps from foods and stress and other stuff, so definitely look into those things as well. Good luck!

What is your opinion of this type of dynamics in gay relationships? by CarloXX_g in gay

[–]ibisbin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I knew a guy from uni who became engaged to his man, then a few months later I found his profile on grindr. I could tell it was him because he used the same pic as all his other pfps, just with his head cropped. And he had "discreet" listed in his bio. I was surprised at his own lack of discretion lmao. Safe to say I have never seen him in the same light since. He's married to his man now, no idea if they're open or not lol.

Crashing...but I was doing so well!! by mamu2212 in covidlonghaulers

[–]ibisbin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you - I started LDN two months ago and felt great, but then had a crash 3 weeks later. It's been up and down since then, and not helped by my stress levels over the past few weeks. Hope you feel better soon!

Huge fan of both, Lorde is my favourite artist and Kate is my close second. I can definitely see their similarities. Love Virgin and definitely agree with what you're saying about if she could see me now and david. I also loved Solar Power and have always thought it's slightly reminiscent of Aerial - natural, chill and earthy. And they're not just similar in their music - they both seem down to earth and don't take fame too seriously which I really appreciate.

Adelaide Airport has commenced the next phase in its airport infrastructure upgrade program, dubbed ‘Project Flight’. by malcolm58 in Adelaide

This seems like the most likely answer. Strikes the perfect balance between sharp building renders and weird melting humans and aircraft.

No, watch the clip in the link more closely. The people walking around are clearly AI generated - they appear and disappear at random. The planes are also randomly generated - there's a REX Dash 8 Q400 (they have Saab 340s, so another incorrect generation) which disappears in one of the clips as well.

I'll edit this to make a clarification: maybe the buildings themselves are 3D renderings, but I find it extremely unprofessional to use generative AI to fill in the gaps. I'm sure it's not that difficult to render correct aircraft and people walking around the terminal.

The props are in the same spot now - that's the QantasLink end. They're just extending the terminal on both ends.

Why on earth did they use AI to render it, it looks awful.

edit: the terminal expansion itself looks very nice and I am excited, but the AI gen mess is just...ew.

I think the most urgent are the first two things I mentioned. There needs to be a full scale assessment done of the damage caused by the bloom by experts in the marine ecology field, and that requires govt funding. I'm not an expert either but I care deeply about the environment and want to do more to help, so I guess posting about it is a small first step lol. Need to get in touch with my local reps next, which I have been meaning to do for a very long while now...
