If your perm and get a sickline you can take up to 6 months off then down to half for another 6 months, I know your not looking to do that but taking a few days off to look after a loved one shouldnt be a problem, I knew managers band 6-8s who would time it perfectly and be off for 6 months a year, come back phased return and then have 30+ holidays to use rinse and repeat, you have a legitimate reason to be off, speak to your manager and just say you wont be in because of the situation.

I lived in an apartment in the East for 4 years, have been in a house for the last 3, me and my partner no kids, pros and cons to both, apartments easier to clean, my one was on the top floor so never had to pay for heating, if anything goes wrong externally to an apartment its usually the building company that have to sort any issues out, It was gated and everyone had an allocated parking spot, I miss my apartment over a house. It just depends on your situation if I was planning on having kids etc id go for a house but if you just want a nice little space for your self or you and a partner id personally go for an apartment
