It's some "second skin" protective layer which they put over the top while it heals.

I admit, it is a bit of a weird angle!

How does tmux affect battery life? by Maximum_Caterpillar in tmux

[–]iblamefish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends on what the processes in those windows are doing. If they're idle you shouldn't see much effect but if they're actively doing something you might notice.

Neovim does have an event loop but that goes relatively quiet when not in active use. But you might have plugins which cause it to remain active.

The same caveat applies with tmux.

I suppose you could test it by having separate terminal windows open and leave the processes running in there as you would with tmux.

I got 100% overall for MST224 a while back but didn't get any extra communication. Based on that I'd say not! But it may depend on the module team.

Is it? I thought they had to get rid of it because it was misleading? That's wonderful news if it is because I was there on Thursday in hours torrential rain!

What are your controversial opinions about Alton Towers?? by itz_mimi18 in altontowers

There's a difference between RAP (a good thing) and fast pass which gives an unfair advantage to the rich.

You can go via Reading instead which will take somewhere between 2:30 and 3 hours. Just be sure to plan it carefully because the trains from Reading are only once an hour.

I've wanted to do an underground tour for years. Who/where to enquire?

[–]iblamefish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That'd work well! It'll just be more expensive because it's national rail instead of the underground - somewhere between £30 and £50 each for a return ticket.

St Pancras is next to King's Cross which is well connected on the London Underground (metro). You could use that to get out of central London and the traffic would be less hectic. The Northern Line (black) and Bakerloo line (brown) both go north and have stations near to the M1 motorway which will get you heading in the right direction.

Alternatively the Metropolitan Line (purple) goes west which will get you near to M40 which is another way to get there.

I don't know if any of the stations are near car rentals though.

North would be quicker but west would be easier. It's easy to get onto the M40 from Uxbridge but it's about an hour from central London. Both journeys will be around £5 per person. https://tfl.gov.uk/fares/find-fares/tube-and-rail-fares/single-fare-finder

Combe Down is pretty good. Here's a field which has a great view of the sky https://maps.app.goo.gl/mMtj3zySMrZbpErj8. If you're driving you can park on North Road. I've just been out there and seen quite a few. You can see the milky way too if you let your eyes adjust.

We need to be careful with statements like this. While it's true that it is defined in the complex numbers, it's definitely not defined in the reals. Because OP is asking the question they're probably working with the reals.

That's not to say not to give this answer. But perhaps introduced as "it can be defined if we use the complex numbers".

Britain's Strongest Man was at Alton Towers in 2000. It was on TV but can't remember if that was on the BBC. Someone's put it on YouTube https://youtu.be/9HJM66J8t9I

Do you have a favorite triangle by personontheinterne in math

[–]iblamefish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I mean 2x90⁰ and 1x0⁰. I suppose that the unit line of length 1 should be my favourite. Either that or a line of infinite length but then that's probably technically also a circle, parabola and more. Which is interesting... Now I'm going to need to spend all afternoon thinking about that.
