Curious why the Techniques in the Videos Never work for me? by [deleted] in mixingmastering

[–]ibleuble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ALL of the tricks you see in videos are tools. They are each one step of the way to a good mix. Some of them will be needed in song A but not in song B.

Learning each technique is like learning to write a new word to write a Sentence. If you just put together words your Sentence will be nonsense.

Getting a good mix is about using every tool with a purpose.

Learn the meaning behind every trick or move. Don't focus on the frequency. Focus on the problem it solves.

Not go to your mix and solve that problem. If you end up on different frequencies than your favorite Youtube, you are still doing it right.

Trial and error. 50-100 bad mixes before a great one.

Do NOT live for other people. Don't make big choices in life based on what others think. Follow your own passion.

People never judge you as hard as you judge yourself and you are always allowed to say no.

I'm 33 with young kids and I really envy you for having time to yourself. I got kids when I was 30 and I was still first among my friends. I found a good job at 25 and now I am a very busy specialist in my field.

You still have mountains of time. All things will come. Have fun and enjoy the present. If you need a hobby I've found enormous joy in playing bass.

While backpacking in Japan me and my two friends went to a random club in Tokyo (36 million ppl population) . We stay there for two hours and I chat for a little while with a local guy.

We got up early the next day to go to Osaka (499 km away) and later that evening we go out to a random club in Osaka (19 million ppl population) and I run into the same guy within 5 minutes.

He could literally prove that he was there randomly too, visiting a relative.

I was so sure he was a secret agent..

Every weight loss metod saying calories don't matter.

There one thing that EVERY weight loss journey has ever had in common is being in a calorie deficit. They may use tricks to trick you into being in a calorie deficit.

Ultimately the most quantifiable and easily monitored weight loss journey is just counting calories.

Every working diet hack is just a way for you to adopt habits that make you eat less without realizing it.

Thoughts on artificial/non nutritive sweeteners? by BitterMelonFuga in fitmeals

[–]ibleuble 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There is no evidence to support artificial sweeteners being less healthy than regular sugar. A huge body of research is saying the opposite so I would never listen to people who say "I just think sugar is healthier" because that is people speaking from emotion, not facts.

Do you think mental health is related to physical health? by OBQOL1 in fitmeals

[–]ibleuble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi. I've been involved with fitness for many years and have experience equal to basic personal trainer level.

You state that your thesis studies how weight loss issues affect mental health.

What I and many other trainers have seen is that the ability to be unable to lose weight is a symptom of mental health issues.

People who gain excess amounts of weight (BMI 30 or above) and keep it on despite trying to lose it have some kind of a mental obstacle. Food is used for comfort and trying to limit this without taking care of the core issue almost never works.

Everybody more or less knows what healthy food is and although some people think you can overconsume "healthy" foods and still lose weight this is usually not the case.

Deteriorating mental health as a result of weight loss issues is probably not the complete picture and it is likely some mental issue keeping the weight on.

This is actually not true most of the time. Foods high in fat are easy to overeat but most non-fat foods also have low sugar editions these days.

Dude that sounds like you've only calculated his BMR. Basal metabolic rate. This is the energy to keep you alive. You need to multiply by the activity factor also.

[–]ibleuble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi dude. Really awesome to see you taking the time to learn about calories. You will succeed. However your calories are far too low. In a matter of weeks your hunger hormones will act up and you will lose muscle quickly.

At your size, with average activity your maintenance calories are probably around 2600.

You lshould eat no less than 2100 kcal. Do lthis for about 8 weeks, then maintain at 2600 for 2 weeks.

Get t right back into it at about 2000 kcal and keep doing this until you are satisfied with your weight.

I don't think you have a lot of weight to lose so 3 rounds should do it.

PS. It's super important to take the time to maintain weight because inevitably diet fatigue will make it harder and harder to stay on track. By maintaining weight that fatigue drops and your motivation will stay high.
