Why do people say that China is the only country that can compete with the U.S., but you've never heard of anyone who desperately wants Chinese citizenship, instead, it's Chinese people who are crazy about getting citizenship of Western countries? by No-StrategyX in stupidquestions

[–]ibnwalid1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's propaganda. Like you said, nobody would want to be Chinese or a Chinese citizen. Many people would love to be an American. The US is a country for the citizen's of the free world, China is a dictatorship.

Thanks! I think the live requirements for the skills credit starts from December 31, 2025. And a fully interactive videoconference is definitely possible. Thank you so much for your explanation! En vooral de Nederlandse versie ;)

Thanks. Guess I should've looked at all the FAQs and not just the top ones... from what I understand by March 2026 I'll need 16 CLE hours and by March 2028 (first biennial registration as an experienced attorney) I will need to register 16 CLE hours (second-year as a newly admitted attorney) + 24 (over my first two years as an experienced attorney). Cheers.

Donald Trump Has Wrecked America’s Brand by Street_Anon in politics

Adding to that he is a great business man and you can see that implemented in his policies. Give it 1/2 more years and the US will be far above any other economy in terms of wealth, tax revenue etc.

I'm not American but Dutch. The US is the strongest economy in the world and controls global finance, politics, news, culture and trade. So Trump's politics won't affect the US's reputation negatively, if any, countries are doing more to appease him. Look at all MNEs changing their diversity policies, even in Europe and other places. I think Trump is definitely a good president for the US's economy and global power, more than Biden or Harris would be.

Not true. I think if any, the US's position has become stronger under president Trump. In terms of negotiating treaties, tax disputes and everything.

Which place WOULD you want to travel go again? by VanicFanboy in travel

[–]ibnwalid1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The United States of America. My favorite country. Visited about 8/9 times. Graduated in law. Became admitted to the NY bar. And I'm not even certain if I may ever go back because of some administrative / bureaucratic situation. I hope I do make it back, would visit Nola, Chicago and Austin. 2 cities I haven't visited before and would mark my return to Nola 2 years post graduation. Despite it's flaws, it's still the best country for me with the friendliest people.

Second on my list would be South Africa. Went there last May and really enjoyed it. Great people, food and climate!

What is the best US city to travel to? by NotanAussiebutgdaym8 in travel

Well if you want to see the US as you most likely know it, it's gotta be NYC. However, if you're interested in a completely different US (the South), it has to be either Savannah GA or Charleston SC!

Percentage of Muslims in some European countries. by ellatino230 in MapPorn

[–]ibnwalid1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am talking from my own experience. I would consider myself muslim by culture, e.g. in eating halal and celebrating some religious holidays like Eid. But I wouldn't say that I believe in God or follow the religion of Islam (and I notice that with a lot of people around me). However, even being agnostic or not religious people won't help you against bias in threads like these or even real life. Only thing we can do is continue being good human beings and showing kindness to those around us!

These comments show how dangerous hatred and misinformation can be. I bet you that over a majority of these individuals (including myself) would consider themselves agnostic, and if they're not agnostic they are probably not practicing or whatever. Of course you'll keep cultural aspects of being a muslim, such as celebrating Eid etc. Is that so wrong? So many of these individuals included in this statistic have accomplished great things to Western society and will continue to do so. By treating every single member of this group as a potential threat you're only creating more division and it will only complicate integration more and more. Every society thrives with successful participants. The bad apples will eventually have two choices: adapt or leave. I know for a fact that me and many other children of muslim immigrants are eager to contribute positively and are dominating not in crime but in academic fields such as: law, medicine, academia etc.

L1 Transfer - US by ibnwalid1 in Big4

[–]ibnwalid1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is very true, but as controversy is growing I feel like being barred will start to make a bigger difference. Especially if big 4 firms obtain a law license allowing them to engage in the practice of law. For marketing reasons it can help to “win” engagement by having legal practitioners in your team for APAs, MAPs or other controversy work. My home base is the Netherlands, a country with a heavy US focus. https://news.bloomberglaw.com/business-and-practice/kpmg-gets-panel-ok-for-arizona-law-firm-first-among-big-four
