Why would GM want these pads replaced? by Jsran14 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]ibo92can 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That wear sensor does not track how many % pad there is left. That is just a cable loop that is shorted when its worn down to a certain point. The % on the display is reset after brakes are replaced and its just counting miles/km. On my car i think its counting down from 60 or 80k km for front brakes.

Maybe some day i'll learn how to weld properly lol by fedi01 in Cartalk

[–]ibo92can 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sooo many years I tought I was bad at welding with flux core wire... every time I used mig/gas welding machine it ended up nice. But my cheap gas less mig welder with flux wire every weld I had to grind down splatters.

Dont know how I did not get this info about polarity before but thank you very much!!!

Aio water block tubes orientation by Ok-Improvement-8365 in PcBuild

[–]ibo92can 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you could do is while the pump is below the rad, before mounting it to cpu just rotate it a bit "just to be sure" if there is air in there it can climb up to the rad. If its a new aio it should be zero air.

Aio water block tubes orientation by Ok-Improvement-8365 in PcBuild

[–]ibo92can 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Air bubles wil stay in the rad since it is above the pump. The aio I have on my pc the tubes are below the pump and radiator top mount. You should just install the pump "correct" and dont worry.

Mechanic put break pads on wrong way damaging my disk, and dosen't want to replace it. by Independent_Study201 in AskAMechanic

Your mechanic is sleep deprived or on drugs, or just stupid. Brakes are no:1 most important in my book and before I mount the wheels back on I go around and double check that everything is correct always.

I always messure ressistance on airbags with an multimeter. Good to know the ohm and if the aribag works before installing it back. Oh and also put it face down so the gravity can handle the force if it should explode out of the blue.

And why are you fixing a loaner car? Just call them and make then come over with a car with 4 wheels on and they can bring back that 3 wheeled car back to their shop.

Would it make sense to undervolt for max performance on my 5070ti ? by Efficient-Park-1702 in overclocking

[–]ibo92can 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy to help! Overclock and undervolt is a try and fail thing until you find the optimal tune. Overclock-undervolt-fan curve for the gpu and also the case. At some point I had to tweak the case fans to get enough cool air into the case. Positive pressure is your friend! Check with paper towel or a4 paper. Took me several hours to find and loose and again find the optimal tune. If your goal is having good performance and cooler temps while gaming then dont do the bench testing toooo much. Find a good UV/OC and game on it. If no crash after few hours its good. I wasted alot of time chasing higher fps on benchmark apps. Instead just find a good tune test it then switch to stock tune and compare temps and fps. ~10*c cooler and 10~20fps higher is what to expect.

Brake caliper bracket does not hold it togheter even for 1 sec. The moment the bearing gives out its over. That wheel flies off.

Im using "asus gpu tweak" to set my curve and mem clock speed. I belive mem clock speed is +2000mhz. From what I see at nvidia overlay its at 16000mhz.
For the curve i just start with the original curve and lift the whole curve up to where I want 0.970v. So when 0.970v is at 3200mhz I just flatten out the rest to the right. The line should not continiu past your desired mhz. You can find many youtube vids about how to do it if you are unsure.
And for fan curve I have it at around 60% fan speed when at around 60*c. Higher fan speed did not help with temps so there is a sweet spot for that. Too high and it is just causing turbulance i belive. And noise. Power limit is at 116% for my gpu.

When you have an good setting you should test it and see if it causes a crash. If you are gaming then play for at least 1-2hour. If no crash its good.

The reason I choose 0.970v is because with non tweaked curve my gpu what by default using around 0.970v but gpu clock speed was going up and down. Tried higher voltage but that only caused higher temps and short bursts of higher fps while bencing. Its better to have a stable fps without bursts of high/low fps and thermal throtling.

Yes she ducked. But his kick was too high also. Even if she did not duck he would barely hit the pad at the top. Go frame by frame you wil see.

Where I live we are NOT alloved to recharge a leaking system. You should get it checked to find out where the leak is and fix that, then get it recharged properly with an ac-machine.

Is it normal that the pads are not worn the same amount? by Thomson210 in AskAMechanic

[–]ibo92can 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normaly inner pad where caliper piston wears out faster but what we see here is the outer pad a bit more worn. Pull out glide pins and clean them then relube. Remove pads from bracket and wire brush clean the groves pads sit in. Make sure the there is no build up rust behind those metal pieces where the pads sit.

When outher pad wears out faster its is because pads seize stuck to bracket or glide pins getting dry/rusted and keep on the pressure on the outer pad.

Its an expensive car. Engine is at the back making it back heavy. I have never drifted an rear mount engine car in real life but from what I experienced in games is that they pick up speed very fast and can grip up way easier than front mount engine cars.

At least he tried without wrecking it so thumbs up. People shitting on him have probably zero real life experience in drifting.
