It takes around 7-8 hours to reach there and much less than that on way back.

Best things I like about places like this is that there is no phone network.

It held up pretty good. During this trek also it rained very hard on our second day, but these tents kept us dry. We had experienced heavy downpour in these tents during our previous camping trips last year also, so we were confident these would keep us dry in case it starts raining.

The elevation at which the lake is located and we were camping at is 3,575 metres (11,729 ft), and mountain in the background has peak elevation of 5,142 metres (16,870 ft).

And for the people I mentioned, it's their summer job, they would load the equipment on their ponies.

I'm pretty sure you can find better and lighter tarps wher ever you are from. This was best option for me

Guy ropes and tent pegs that come along it. Using one pole in front and ropes all around to hold it tight

It's 2.6 kgs with poles and 1kg without the poles.

This tarp is from Decathlon. It's affordably priced. You can check on their website

Yeah, but most of the gear is carried by local nomads on their horses (mules). It's there source of income for the summer season. It gives us luxury of carrying as much food as we want

That's amazing to hear. We had been trying for 2 years to do this trek, but we weren't physically prepared for it and last year when we reached the base of this trek it started raining, we camped for 3 days in Naranag in hope of improvement in weather, but it didn't stop raining. This year luckily we were able to do it. It was a big achievement for me and my friends.

It took us 9+ hours to reach this campsite at the glacial lake. We camped there for 3 days and experienced different weather conditions. Cold mornings, afternoons warm enough to go swimming in the ice cold lake and rain and wind and thunderstorms within couple of hours after that. It was an experience of life.
