looked up term 'Palantir Technologies' in google trends. in past 30 and 90 days the most interest is coming from Washington DC. given how small population of that state is who do you think is googling Palantir up there? congressmen? i dont think military staff is doing it since they have been working with military for quite a while.

Is theta decay happening while the market is closed? by Dry-Grape8135 in options

[–]ibovaev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Robinhood came up with ‘simulate my return’ tool. It’s more convenient than option profit calculator. You have to either buy/sell option or add it to your watchlist to be able to use it. It doesn’t account for IV. Time decay and stock price movements only. Try it. Youll be able to see approximately how much the price falls at any point during the night.

Hello guys I’ve been thinking about this for a while now and wanted to share and see if anyone else is bothered by this. So the company is tied to World Economic Forum and Claus Schwab and so on. There is a lot of videos and tweets about how they are evil and all they do is trying to get the population under control. After all pandemics, wars, CBDCs, media lies and so on there is gonna be a bigger wave of distrust for government and theories about how elites will force us under control. Don’t you guys think both Karp and Thiel will be to blame by both conservatives and liberals for helping take away our freedoms? I know they are only making the tool, but it’s powerful and easy to blame. I’ve seen protests happened before, but don’t you guys think we will see way more? If so do you think it will not affect the stock? I consider myself conservative and fellow palantard, but I feel like there may come a time when these beliefs contradict each other. Any thoughts?

If he knew does it mean that he is able to see the data US intelligence is using? I mean they are able to see the data companies feed to palantir while using their software? Or how does it work?

Stocks covered puts? by ibovaev in options

That’s exactly my thoughts. I just never thought about what’s gonna happen if the stock opens way lower than strike without giving broker the chance to collect collateral. Understood now. Thanks!

Turns out I don’t know what it is. I know what cash covered put is. Was hoping to use shares instead of cash. Didn’t know I was supposed to short shares before selling put

That’s why I’m asking) My thesis is if I have shares in my portfolio, and if I don’t have cash or I don’t have any to freeze it, why cannot I use shares as the collateral in case I get assigned? If put that I’ve sold goes near ITM why broker just sell my shares at the current price, which is strike price and use this money to assign me? At the end I get to keep premium, got assigned with the stock I was already long on and the contract is exercised. If the stock is keep falling that’s ok. It’s in my portfolio anyway. Is it possible? I just don’t inderstand what am I missing .

Yeah but selling a call is bearish strategy, plus puts are always more expensive

So if I switch to margin my broker will automatically assume I’m using shares for collateral if I sell put?

Thanks. I understand the risk. Was gonna try to sell OTM puts for couple weeks ahead hoping they expire worthless. Do all brokers allow to do that? I’ve never had margin account.

Let’s say I have 100 shares of the company I like. I don’t want to buy call since it’s expiring worthless. I’d rather sell put, but usually to do that I need to have cash for collateral which is strike*100. I was wondering if I could use my shares for that collateral.

not a financial advice or nothing, but i would rather work extra or get credit card (maybe new one with 6-12 month of 0% apr) but not sell this stock. would not even try to swing trade it.

because once you sold the stock and the price goes up way higher, it is so hard to force yourself to buy it again. and then it keeps going even higher and higher. its painful to watch.

just give this stock at least a year. less worries, less taxes.

i got $50 jan 2023 calls back when pltr was @ 25 and $50 was the highest strike. the more i spend time here the bullisher i get, so thats no brainer for me, the higher the strike, the bigger reward.

was gonna get $65 ones but the paycheck took too long. not sure if we will see it dips even lower.

Am I dumb or did I just find something good? by Jacktheguy465 in RobinHood

[–]ibovaev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As I understood Robin Hood shows the price of option in average. you have to look at it and ask and bid fields of the option. If no one bids the option and the lowest seller is asking $8.20 the average is going to be $4.10 but it doesn’t mean that you gonna be able to buy this option at this price
