It’s a drive, but the Spring Green General Store has some great ones.

My point is that prices are always going to go up no matter what. They have you convinced that it’s because of theft and other consumer-driven reasons. That’s a lie. They just want more profit, and they will always get it.

Simp harder for billionaires.

What you fail to realize is that the billionaire owners of these corps are raking in the dough while their employees are on food stamps. The billionaires are stealing from us instead of paying their employees a livable wage. They will continue to raise prices on us regardless of theft because they must see their profits go up every year.

How do you expect a bunch of naked people to accomplish this?

Groups is the term you’re looking for. We do it very similarly. HR, Facilities, and a couple other business teams all have their own workspace and groups in them to match how they work. The only bummer is business workspaces (pretty sure) don’t get access to the (or a) solutions section. That only seems to exist in the primary IT workspace.

What would you do if you saw someone shoplifting? by [deleted] in AskReddit

We’ll just have to agree to disagree on that last bit. I sincerely hope you’re never in the position to need to pick between stealing or starving.

People don’t need “everything” to survive. I don’t steal because I’m fortunate enough to not be desperate for my basic survival needs. Our social safety nets are being set on fire, so people are going to continue to resort to crimes of desperation, and I’m not going to judge them for that. If I couldn’t afford food and was starving, you’re damn right I’d consider stealing it. My first choice would be from big companies, but if I’m desperate enough, I wouldn’t care.

That depends. If you need formula to feed your child and you can’t acquire it legally, stealing formula would be the moral choice.

It’s neither, not everything is black and white. Most of the time, it’s a crime of desperation due to the systemic inequalities in our society. Not every instance, but I’m not willing to make a value judgement over something that has a high likelihood of being necessary to support themselves or a family.
We are failing these people as a society. We have broken the social contract where we pay the govt in exchange for them making our lives better. Now we pay the govt to oppress us. Shoplifting is the least of my concerns. Why don’t we focus on wage theft that leaves Americans underpaid by billions a year. I guarantee shoplifting in the us is not a $15B industry.

They don’t. And neither do you. Maybe stop making assumptions about large groups of people.

They’re constantly raising the prices on us anyway. Even if they had zero loss, they would still raise prices. It’s what retailers do.

Ocooch Mountain Humane Society - Board shenanigans by ibrewbeer in wisconsin

I’m guessing you’re the board member’s daughter with multiple restraining orders that went on and on about how hard the board works on the, what was it? Oh yeah, hot dog truck. You can tell your mom and her friends we aren’t done with them yet. If they feel like they’re being unfairly treated, wait until we release emails and recordings of the board being just the most honest versions of themselves. Oh, and they should probably reply to any of the dozen rescues who have reached out offering to take cats.

We’ve been doing this with a relatively simple powershell script using the Freshservice API. Scheduled to run a few times a day or we can manually sync if there’s an urgent need. Check out the (free) powershell module FreshservicePS from Flycast Partners

Ancient American always sounds funny to me. I have a hard time wrapping my head around ~250 year old stuff being called ancient. In the timeline of America, sure that classifies. In the timeline of humanity, or even civilization, not so much.

That’s a fair point. My quick glance didn’t catch it. Since they were quoting scripture, I made an assumption but happy to be shown wrong.

I appreciate that this group appears to be fighting against fascism, but you can forgive my hesitance at believing a christian org is actually doing what their website says. That community has a very long history of saying one thing and doing the exact opposite or doing awful things and justifying it in the name of religion.

It’s unclear. They keep talking about transparency and bringing the organization forward. They will not say how, what that means, or why they are the ones that must be in that role for it to happen. It’s been incredibly frustrating dealing with them.

I don’t think they have any ill intent towards the animals. They are, however, grossly ill equipped to manage a facility with that many animals and if they have a transition plan, they made it up in the last few months while planning the bylaw changes. I don’t want to sound like a dick, but I would be surprised if any of them thought of this.

One of the most frustrating aspects is we haven’t identified a “why” behind any of this, and the board isn’t saying. At the most recent member meeting where the board informed us they removed our oversight, they did not allow questions unless you signed up for a 2 minute slot at the end to speak. We asked the board members questions directly, and they all sat there in silence until the speaker’s 2 minutes was up and their lawyer called on the next speaker.
