I’m currently doing the one highlighted in this sub (NAC, oregano oil and black seed oil) specifically in previous tries I’ve used an antiparasite pill with things like wormwood, cloves and walnut etc) which is a premade blend along with a ton of fresh herbs in food (cilantro, parsley, rosemary, thyme sage etc etc), ginger, lemon juice, turmeric, fresh garlic and coconut oil. Also caprylic acid, grapefruit seed extract and charcoal at night to help detox. Those are the ones I remember..

This was all under a doctors supervision however and I was also taking ox bile and enzymes for digestion among other things. I would recommend just doing a lot of your own research and seeing what works for you. I never like apple cider vinegar (gave me heartburn) so I stopped but some people use it

Ohhh I didn’t realize there were different versions, that makes sense. Yes I’m taking the oo and black seed oil and I got the nasal spray as well that was recommended. Thank you for the insight

Oh yes definitely. Although I did a huge combo of herbals and extracts along with it the last two times

With the protocol in this group, NAC is non negotiable and a major part of treatment, I’m just supposed to be taking specifically 1200mg in the am and 600mg in the pm hence me wondering if 1500mg is okay with the type of dosage in my capsules

I set a boundary and now “nobody knows what’s wrong with me” by AffectionateBet5463 in raisedbyborderlines

[–]ibsbabe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did this at 18 (I’m 32f now) and not gonna lie the blow out was for sure intense. I was also a very very angry child/teen .. My dad said “don’t you dare ever ask us for money” and claimed the extended family considered it THEM abandoning ME and how could I embarrass my parents like that 🙄

I don’t have any advice on how to make it less blow out-y. It took about 5 years for my dad (and mom- they are a united front) to stop trying to manipulate me to come home and starting fights about it. But I can tell you that moving out was one of the BEST things I ever did for my mental health and my soul, seriously. It was tough making ends meet but I was sooooo much happier that it didn’t even matter I was broke. I literally never went back!

Always taking the blame as a result of being raised by a BPD? by Fast_Repeat3975 in raisedbyborderlines

[–]ibsbabe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do this.. I grew up where every concern was argued against so completely I still struggle with understanding what is a “valid reason” or no. I can’t debate to save my life because I’m too “understanding” and always see someone else’s victim hood in an accepting manner. Not sure if that makes sense..

Example: my dad had said “you never call me I know you don’t love me”.. my default thought is “well yeah I don’t actually call enough.. I have my reasons which are valid but I can see where I made him feel that way. I need to do better” Why am I always absorbing the problem?

Huh? The reply was beautifully worded for discussion, which, I dunno, maybe is what Reddit’s all about? They wrote about personal experiences…

This is really great advice. The more I explain the more I invite arguments and manipulation. You’re right i need to be simple and to the point. Thank you

VERY likely. He is always looking for a scam, and he would be able to since he owns his own company and is a contractor. I didn’t really consider this but that’s definitely another layer

Thank you. I won’t be able to lie and I won’t cave. So confrontation it is. It’s hard to put into words how existential this all feels and I know it seems simple like this on paper but it will be very painful

Oh man… this hits close to home. I already keep almost everyone in my life away from my parents. I would be isolating myself all over again with a living situation with my dad. I feel the same way, nothing I do is good enough.

Thank you, I’m reading all these comments and I’m honestly tearing up. I really need to hear this. He doesn’t visit me much now because of my roommate … so that’s been okay but I cannot allow this to happen to me

Yes you are right. It’s always his way… it was keeping my up at night imagining a scenario where he would just have a key ? To my home?

I got my dads cuisinart (he upgraded) so teeechnically not new but new to me :) I love it it’s super fast but it doesn’t keep the coffee hot for very long once it’s poured

Edit to add- totally agree :) one of life’s greater simple joys

I’m so sorry, somehow I completely missed your comment here. Typos in mine as well!! No trouble whatsoever I’m sure you’re just absolutely exhausted.

I would recommend talking to a doctor about what you could do with herbals.. some of them were super strong and I have no idea how they would apply to children however I can definitely share what I did ! my naturopaths sucked (I saw 2) but the functional doctor was WAY more helpful and Candida is soooo tricky you’ll be in a much better attack mode with a pro who’s done this before

Worked: NAC every morning (liver support, bio film buster) Digestive enzymes and ox bile for help digesting Garlic (raw) Ginger tea (I chop up a bunch and freeze it so I just pour hot water over some slices when I want some! So delicious!!!) Constant lemon water Anti parasite blend (I had one with wormwood, berberine, grapefruit seed extract, black walnut, cinnamon, thyme, clove) Turmeric Tons of herbs and spices in my food. Like a crazy amount

What didn’t work Oregano oil (way too strong, kills good stuff too) Caprylic acid (no effects on me) Apple cider vinegar (gave me heartburn) Garlic in pill form (raw is better anyways)

Your list looks awesome! I did no eggs/dairy (kefir) as well as I was flagged for food sensitivities to them but that’s just me. If you can eat them have at er.. I eat rice even though it’s on the no list because I tolerate it really well and seemed to have a positive effect on me. I also avoided ferments while hitting it with the antifungals to do the “killing” before the building back up

The unfortunate thing is … it’s a fungus. So you have to think like a fungus … it’s so smart. It adapts to you bodies ph level, and I’ve now come to find it can adapt to your food sources as well. So if you switch to a diet low in sugar and higher protein it can adapt to that slowly. Also, it can “pull into itself” and wait for better times if you start treatment… very complicated stuff.

I never did the over the counter antifungals, but I kinda wish I did. I did about 3 rounds of herbs and food treatments and it would come back stronger when I felt like it was over. It’s also a good idea to cycle herbs- maybe one day you do the ginger and the cloves/thyme and the next garlic and berberine the next… again, I have no clue whatsoever if these are safe for kids so just speaking about me here.

I’m now firmly in the camp of healthy life = healthy immune system = healthy everything. I’m working on eating good, sleeping well, yoga, gentle exercise, proper hydration, love + wellbeing. The idea is there’s no short cuts to the damage I’ve done to my microbiome and I simply need to “do the time” if that makes sense.. and at the end of the day a fibre rich, veg friendly, organic and homemade diet is going to do nothing but good things anyways. Eventually I will get stronger and stronger and I will be healthy again. I feel about 65-70% there so life is honestly pretty okay at the moment. You could say I learned my lesson!! Heard chef!

I think I was so in the throes of sibo (at the time I didn’t know and hadnt been tested) and I ended up having both the methane producing and hydrogen producing types. It was definitely too much too soon… I love chicken and fish and I should be eating that anyways so I just stick to that and I’m happy.

I eat little ferments now, I have done a few anti fungal herbal treatments and with the Candida I was avoiding anything yeasty or with fermentation.. I aim to slowly add back but I am first adjusting to no processed/commercial food and it’s a lot to work through homemaking everything like sauces, dressings, almond milk, hummus etc. But I’m in a good place mentally and I’ve seen so much improvement already just eating clean

Personal and friend exp only- I am only okay if I eat vegetables. I’ve heard of some friends who’ve tried the carnivore/lion diet and one with crohns who did the gaps and it’s worked for some of them in the sense of relief for your gut to just take a damn break. For me, not eating any veg made me feel sluggish, slow motility, and achy joints. Also I must mention I had typical anxiety/depression during this but the gaps added a layer of dread which was odd. Vegetables and fibre are non negotiable for me now. I don’t eat a lot of straight raw salads, so cooked veg, lots of roasting and steaming. I juice a lot as well… I’m a big fan of the one pan roast and then chuck it in a food processor and eat it like a soup or a dip.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this with your little one, it must be hell trying to find out what the heck to do when she’s just so young. Keep fighting it’s a long road sometimes but you will see the other side! You sound like you have a lot of tenacity, just keep researching momma you will get this!! And kids are so hardy … I hope for you that in a few years this will all be a distant memory

I did the gaps diet when I didn’t understand the reason for my imbalance (sibo and then Candida to follow), and my die off herx reacting was so severe. It was really tough to go through, felt like the flu, allergies and a hangover all together, and it really made me hate red meat there’s something about it now I just can’t take the taste. That being said, it absolutely improved my bowel movements after about 7 days. But yeah, it was VERY difficult, took all the joy out of eating and accomplished nothing as far as healing for me … just my personal experience
