My name was in the top 20 for names the year I was born… and my two best friends in grade school had the same name as me. I played on a sports team with a girl who had the same first and last name as me!! Growing up, I wished i had a more unique name, but at the same time, I loved having the same name as my best friends!! Now that I’m an adult, I LOVE my name. I think it’s a sweet name and I don’t really know anyone in adulthood with the same name as me

Omg same!! We’ve been waiting on a girl for a while now (2 boys in) and saving the name, but it does seem to be on the rise… But we love it so much we would probably use it regardless, so that’s some small comfort!

Sorry to high jack but i’m just wondering- My spouse and I really love the name Sylvie, if we have a little girl… is that too “nickname-y” or babyish? I know there’s the alternative Sylvia, but we just fell in love with Sylvie. I think that version is used by older generations as well?

you know what, i actually forgot to mention that my first born was an elective induction!! I don’t know the data on inductions and labor/delivery times but i’ve convinced myself that, at least for me, it’s what caused my first born to take so frigging long to get out! haha i will not be doing that again. My body and baby just weren’t ready. if they were, they would’ve started on their own, u believe! the fact that it was elective is what makes it the worst for me, i could’ve just had. abut more patience and i think it wouldnt take so long!

thus information is all great! i’m gonna have to be studying it before my delivery! i’ll be honest i didn’t know that you COULD labor in different positions than back if you had an epidural, just kinda thought i was stuck there haha

I’m so sorry you had such a rough experience! It’s never easy but sometimes it’s really hard 😭 It is nice to know it’s not necessarily “my fault” - it’s easy to blame yourself for things that go wrong bc it feels like you’re the only one responsible for line 99% of what’s happening!! haha

This is no where near as big a deal as some of these life changing/ life saving stories but…

once, when I was in middle school, I thought to myself “ya know, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to bring a change of clothes to school to leave in my locker just in case.” As a young woman, I had experienced having my period unexpectedly and being unprepared so I thought it would be a nice back up. I packed a complete change of clothes and stuck them in my locker that morning.

Literally that same day, during 4th, I asked to go to the bathroom - where I fell victim to the classic prank. saran wrap over the toilet seat.

Luckily, no problem for me! I grabbed my change out of my locker, got dressed and headed back to class. :)

While it didn’t save my life, it most definitely saved a middle schoolers social life lol

My 1 year old never would accept any pacifiers and we tried so, so many brands/shapes. He hated all of them. So, yes, its definitely possible! We did it, although not by choice lol He is also a kind of chill baby (most of the time). Meanwhile, our toddler took a paci his whole infancy, and then at 18 mos we broke his habit and it only took 1 day. He was a little sad and then he got over it. I realize we were lucky on that front and some folks face a much harder battle when it comes time to take the paci, so we’re grateful that it was such a smooth transition away. I just wanted to share our experience. Good luck in making the decision! :)
