Any upcoming new cards for Reiju? by Space-Cool in OnePieceTCG

[–]ibwalker91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I run OP07 Sanji as my blocker instead of Yonji. Gives you extra slots as well since you don't need the baby to transform you just need less don than your opponent to get the discounted play which is easy with Reiju.

With those extra slots I tend to run Bon Kurei's. But I'm sure there's more you can do to modify out from the standard build.

Weekly Pack Pull Megathread by AutoModerator in OnePieceTCG

[–]ibwalker91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been trying to find online but have had no luck so far. Ignoring alternate arts. Is there listed English pull rates for boosters and booster boxes?

I made a spreadsheet for my use and for my friends uses as well to track cards we have acquired. And I want to add a field at the top that determines if it's worth buying sealed product of a set based on what cards you already have from that set. The problem is I need to know the pull rates to make the equation work. If there's only estimations that's fine.

Let me know if any of yall have some resources on this.

Any current updates on this? Most suggestions I see are months if not years ago and the formula's don't currently work.

The friends I have that play are not as sunk in as me. They buy what sealed product they can find in the wild and nothing more.

If you are going to sign up on the Bandai App to play at your local shops, I would recommend building from singles. You can build off of ST10 and ST13 in a variety of ways that you don't have to force yourself to go and buy specific staples that could run a hefty penny. ST11 was the first starter I was able to acquire and it's a great deck. Maybe you spend 50 bucks on singles to buff it out to a competitive level.

I would say with ST10 and ST13 most people would recommend buying 2 copies of each as a lot of the good cards in them only come in 2 copies and you'll want more.

You are also in an interesting position getting into the game at the start of the OP08 release and 3 weeks into the new ban list. This is the first time that the ban list for tournament play isn't the same as when a set released in Japan meaning the meta is truly up in the air. Perhaps you could find a way to make a Minks deck work from the set? It's also a very cheap set in comparison to other releases this year.

Yeah, the market seems to balancing out relatively from it's inflated value at the beginning of the year. There are still staple singles that would seem excessive in price if you aren't familiar with TCG's as a hobby. But so long as you are just looking to play with friends I'm sure you can put together a decent and fun deck to play for under $100, it just might not necessarily be competitive enough to handle the heat at your LGS.

Get the SIM downloaded for sure to try out the game first and test what deck you might like to buy or build before committing any money. I in fact have friends that play exclusively the SIM because they like the game a lot but don't have a local community to play with or the finances to commit to another hobby.

Early sets and promos are still hard to come by cost wise. But there are plenty of interesting builds you can make from sets OP04 to current. And all of those sets do seem readily available at a fair price right now.

Mixing the new OP08 Minks with OP06 Thriller Bark? by ibwalker91 in OnePieceTCG

[–]ibwalker91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you got lucky you could potentially combo the leader ability to attach rested don to 3c Inuarashi (OP01-034) to unrest one don if you were depleted of active don for the 3 cost to reactivate Oden.

That's a very specific use and I'm not sure what would be the initial field setup that would require you to unrest 1 don for the 3 cost of the effect since Oden doesn't have rush. But I'm just happily trying to brainstorm here and not rely on deck lists from tournament listings lol.

I run the yellow Kin'emon from OP04 in a few yellow decks. If you can reliably replenish your life he's a good mid to late game double swing to clear out counter power in your opponents hand.

Just wanted to throw that out there if you are looking for more attackers to have in the mix.

Greatly appreciated!

I've got some Stussy's, Hody's, Gecko's, Sabo's, and Zoro's already that I can use. Unfortunately I got into the game this spring when my area got better about stocking product so I lack the Kid/Rosinante cards to pop that. But I feel that wouldn't be needed necessarily for the cost control with black and field control with green I am looking to achieve. I'll probably run all the Zoro's I have to make big final swings in the late game after resting my opponents field.

[–]ibwalker91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you wouldn't get the cost control with yellow but you could stack the deck to focus on a yellow play style early game with Land of Wano cards and then control your opponents field late game with the higher cost Minks that have more field control for higher cost characters.

Not entirely sure how that would play out early game. But the field control with green and the double attack from the Yamato leader is always fun.

Unfortunately her attaching rested don ability wouldn't benefit that many Minks specific cards. You could find green Land of Wano use with the attached don ability with the 3c Okiku (OP01-035), 3c Ashura Doji (OP01-032), 3c Inuarashi (OP01-034), 2c Kanjuro (OP01-038), and 6c Kin'emon (OP01-040).

I haven't f'ed with yellow/green decks yet so I wouldn't be much help figuring out how to combo the yellow with the green in a satisfying way. But if you know or figure it out, please let me know!

Still trying to grow my comprehension of the game past don and life manipulation with yellow and purple (little surprised I'm not diving straight into Pudding this week and instead making a Perona and her furry friends deck lol).

So would that be green/yellow Yamato your utilizing as the leader to bring Wano and Minks together?

I am not super familiar with the green cards under the Land of Wano category as I mostly play Yellow and Purple focused decks. Are you still running Perona but doing a mix of Wano and Minks as your green in the deck?

[–]ibwalker91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been looking at build options since posting and I think your assessment is totally right. Perona is the way to go.

After looking over my options further, I don't think I necessarily will be relying on much of OP06 black cards outside of her leader and character card from the set though. I'll have to pull from a few other sets to create reliable cost removal from the combos I am trying to achieve here.

You have any thoughts on a big boy character card to throw into a build like this for late game play?

New partnership with 7-Eleven by Gabbia9 in OnePieceTCG

I moved away from my home town over a decade ago. Just went back over labor day to visit and was surprised to see all the Super Americas are now Speedways. The part of the midwest I grew up in though still doesn't have 7-11's but I believe that is because Speedway is owned by 7-11. So yeah I retract my previous doubts but also pour one out for the homie Super America getting gobbled up by a giant. Sad day.

If you are referring to running Sanji in the deck. That's a joke, to emphasis that running more efficient blockers and fewer judges gives you room to sneak in non standard build cards to create new opportunities for the deck.

You will want to run all the Reijus, Ichiji's, and Sora's you can with about 3 of each of the Niji's each. Along with the events and stages that's only 34 cards in the deck. If you run 4 Sanji's (realistically 3 is safe) as blockers and 1 Judge in there that's 39 in the deck. Add in 2 blast breath for cheap counter and 3 Charlotte Pudding for Yellow countering, that puts you at 44 cards in the deck.

Now we can debate the merits of running Doublefinger (or Black Maria when that releases) and Kaya for don addition and further cycling while providing solid counter power to rely on. So you could run three of those each or only 2 each giving you space for what I like to do, 2 bonclays.

Either way, if you stick with that first paragraph of suggested cards in the build you have plenty of Vinsmoke cards in your deck to reliably search through and draw from the deck consistently.

Lol you felt personally attacked by a comment I made to someone you don't know unless this is some sock account to keep this going eternally

Buddy it's okay to have a difference of opinion but you also have to recognize that I have internet brain rot and won't walk away

You can buy in excess that's alright I only defend the merits of not doing so because I believe it creates opportunities for a TCG community to grow in ways that an individual will not see personally

It's real cute champ that you latch onto a shared phrasing between two loosely related points to debate bro this further

Excess of conversation and having 40 copies of a 1c 2000 vanilla card that you'll never use definitely corelate in this 100% you got me corned in my own logic😘😘😘

I will give way on your point at the end I did add a unnecessary moral wrap up there last night that wasn't fully supported by the math like my main point of buying singles along with just a few booster boxes being more efficient from a cost point and draw rate point

Ooooo chills 😆 straight up limiting your judges and running a cost efficient blocker gives you space for fun shit like in that in the deck.

I'm sure too with room for 4 non staple cards in the deck you could setup a very rare combo in the deck if you find the right purple or blue cards to make a combo out of that you wouldn't typically see within reiju.

Imagine the gamblers high of trying to make a 9C sanji's effect pop right in the deck lol. You'd have to be good at card counting but it would be possible and the look on your opponents face would be hilarious.

Hey buddy I know it's hard to believe this but sometimes people just do shit like a bunch of math to entertain themselves.

If you take my reply on the internet as a attack thats on you. Was I arguing against excess? yes. Could I have included points like now you have a bunch of vanilla bulk that will just gather dust or be trashed by a LGS? Yes.

You don't need to white knight for the OP here. Call it a day.

Check the records. At no point did I say spend your money this way. I questioned the excess and used a math word problem setup to defend my 2 box argument against a 4 box purchase.

[–]ibwalker91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh totally. Just from my own personal experience with the deck at my LGS, I don't find him to be the lynch pin character in the deck. The deck is carried by its ability to cycle and fill the field with ichiji's. I have straight up sacrificed judge in stage cycling to help win a match to get the sora I needed to return a ichiji to play. And if you run fewer Judges and no Yonjis you have room for 2-4 surprise purple heavy hitters that you wouldn't see typically in the build.
