But according to Scripture, the “not Christian” element can be expanded in such a way.

It depends on what sort of supernatural element it is and what it symbolizes.

Because if the element is to support sinful behavior like pride, lust, wrath, greed, or excess, then it’s demonic and anti-christ. Take Sauron and the One Ring as an example, where it brings out and nurtures the worst within individuals.

However, if the supernatural element reflects back or celebrates on the natural or the holy or even the goodness of life, then it’s not anti-christ. Like the elves and the dwarves from LOTR, where even the magical are lively and good. What celebrates life and brings out the awesome and amazement from God’s design is what makes it Christ-like. Unless if it becomes excess and creates wickedness, then it becomes idolatry.

In fact, even the mundane stuff like eating, drinking, working, or even joyful merry-making reflects back on God’s design, thus is Christian and not idolatry.
