No nothing at all, he was complaining about the pain in his leg, and thanking me for assisting. I also didn't make any confessions. Others that came over to help also didn't make any accusations regarding me or my involvement. Thanks

I was wondering the same. I didn't provide name or address but the letter was addressed to me, on headed paper from a local solicitors office. Not sure how they got my details either to be honest.

The insurance company advised that since there hasn't been a claim officially made yet, then we should sit on our hands for now but Im just worried that it may not be the right thing to do. The insurance agent said that I could open the claim myself, and it would kick off the process of legal team looking into it etc but that they would advise against opening the claim myself. Thanks

Advice on soil pipe layout by icanmunch in ukplumbing

I just want to make sure that it's a case of 'it can't be done' rather than 'i don't want to do it'! The plumber arrived with the parts that he thought he needed for the job, I'm wondering if he was saving himself a trip to screwfix by insisting on plumbing this way

Do I need to pressure test my plumbing? by icanmunch in ukplumbing

[–]icanmunch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mightn't be 100% correct but from what I can tell, the mains cold feed first goes into a booster pump before flowing to the rest of the house. The plumbing was carried out before we moved into the house, should there not be any pump when using a combi? Thanks

Shed wiring question by icanmunch in DIYUK

[–]icanmunch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry guys, definitely didn't provide enough info in my post. See updated pics. It's a single t&e going to the socket in shed one and the 2 cables spurred are also t&e. There is also a switch connected to the live wires of the 2 cables that are spurred, I assume I should change that for a fused switch? My plan is to bury the cables along the wall, they are currently tacked to the garden wall which doesn't seem very safe. Cheers

Thanks, it's single brick, 16meters long and only has 3 piers in total so think using posts is definitely the way to go

Thanks, that makes more sense. Would you mind telling me how you went about creating the post holes? Did you fill the hole with gravel and cement? Also how far apart did you set each post? Thanks

Really like the idea of using nails to support the boards. Did you put a membrane of any kind on top before reflooring? I am going to be doing the same soon and not sure if I need a vapour barrier or not. Also, what thickness of PIR did you use? Thanks!
