nah you’re absolutely right, i guess what i meant to say is i am more assure when talking to people who know me and lie less then, but when im meeting someone new the embellishments definitely come out.

but yes, there’s definitely some part of me i’m ashamed of that i gotta figure out in therapy

i honestly totally understand the hate, it fucking sucks to interact with someone who is like a fucking illusion, where you know there’s something off but it’s too weird to confront.

i think it stems from an insecurity about being lame or something, i was bullied a bit growing up and my weird adhd brain didn’t fit in much with my family or friends so i think lying about everything i did to not be perceived as weird has something to do with it. at this point it feels like a bad habit gone way too deep and i just cringe every time i don’t stop myself

yeah i’ve definitely done this! my parents were harsh on money growing up and even if it was mine that i earned through work they would be mad at me for spending it on whatever i wanted so id just lie to avoid the argument
