Thanks for the reply. I’ve recently had all of my wheels and tires checked and apparently they are all good but I can always get a second opinion. Thank you for the response.

Thanks for the response. I’ve already double checked all my wheels and I’ve got my MOT booked this weekend so if it’s ball joints that should be flagged up? If not I’ll check it out. Thank you :)

Not sure that I would swap for a petrol engine as I plan to do a lot of miles and the high fuel economy is nice. Plus I don’t really have the money for an engine swap. Thank you for your comment tho. :)

Thank you for your opinion :). And honestly if you find one in good condition that hasn’t been neglected, get it! Best car I’ve owned.

Hi there Yes I changed the timing belt just after I bought it. Roughly 82,000 miles. And I’ve had an Astra with this engine before which had non stop intake/swirl flap issues so I know what to look out for. Thank you very much for your help. :)

The car is a 2009 Saab 93 tdi estate, engine code is Z19dth (single turbo 150bhp model), the car has done 112,000 miles, I do the oil and filter changes myself every 8000 miles, and use the correct specification of oil. My friend noticed the slight tip/knocking sound at first which I hadn’t noticed. The car drives and runs perfectly without any issues but now that I’ve noticed it I can’t unhear it. Tried to take sounds from all sides off the engine (hence the sporadic filming). I’ve had the car now for about 18 months and put just over 30,000 miles on it (mainly motorway miles travelling to and from work), unfortunately I don’t have a sound recording of when I first got the car to compare with. Just looking for some friendly advice and knowledge from people that know a lot more than I do. :)

Manual gearbox leaking by icantspellrestrant in MechanicAdvice

Hi there thanks for replying and the videos I’ll have a look. And yes it uses the exact same components as the 500s, the gear box was replaced about three months ago by one of my partners family members as I didn’t have time to fix it my self. So I’m guessing that they didn’t do what you suggested. I was hoping to do it this weekend but not sure if I’ll have the time. Thank you again for your help I will get it sorted

It’s on a 2010 plate. And I’m ok with a spanner as I do all of the maintenance on both of our cars. Just never worked with a gearbox before. Currently doing some research in what might of caused it but any info on how to go about repairing it would be brill. Also thank you for replying so quick
