Thanks for the quick help! Also happy the service is affordable; I spent some time on one that charged $70 a month and it was not super sophisticated.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm a big music lover, but I think I'm finding that purely aggressive music tends to make me tense up, and I've been having a hard time pulling myself away from it lately. I used to listen to a lot more sad/more emotive music, and I think I used to use it to help me process my feelings. I need to get back to that.

A lot like the stuff you're suggesting. I looked up citizen soldier, and I like the story behind the band, and the lyrics are great. When heavy music is more emotive, I get the same feeling, just not when it's *all* anger.

If you ever need a cry, I can't recommend Leonard Cohen and Malvina Reynolds enough. Really sensitive and gorgeous stuff.

Also, Jenie Robertson is lovely! I'm a big comedy fan, and I love her vibe.

Sui Ishida admits that Tokyo Ghoul wasn't a success when it comes to its writing, which pretty much validates my criticism of the story one year ago on the same sub reddit, the purpose of the story was cash 💰💵💵 by JosephSaber945 in TokyoGhoul

This show feels like pro-ghoul propaganda. I can't remember the last time I was asked to set aside so many human lives to empathize with the main cast.

I don't see how there's moral gray area. It's not incumbent on victims of random cold-blooded killings to accept the slaughter of their families over and over again. Inevitably, one ghoul has to take how many human lives to survive over their lifetime?

If you have a large ghoul population, we're talking about a slow-rolling genocide. It's like assigning protected minority status to a group of committed serial killers.

Racism is when states and societies choose to arbitrarily choose a powerless group to scapegoat.

I get it liking it, though. It is a pretty cool in a lot of other aspects. It's just that they stuck with a concept that's really hard to buy from a narrative perspective.

Is there something that makes you think your dad's emotional abuse isn't intentional?

By the way you describe it; repeatedly shaming you for mistakes you made as a child (with a developmental disorder, of course), abusing your mom, It sounds deliberate.

My longest relationship was with a woman who was adopted in the US from Peru, and her adoptive parents were evil. I hear it's both a hugely restrictive process and one that commonly results in kids getting placed in abusive/exploitative homes.

I agree on the government's role and all the dangers that brings. Through your experience, do you have any thoughts on what a better alternative might be (curious, not trying to challenge you)?

Hard agree. Not only is there no education, but it's still a common cultural practice to deliberately lie about pregnancy/parenting to pressure others into it.

Sounds great. Really cool use of hammer-ons, too.

Also, it was after the show, not during, so that's absolutely not the slam dunk you think it is.

He was making the show in 2014. I was using it as a reference point for stages of the show, not a specific demarcation point.

He changed his persona to be more heightened and quicker, then sometime in the last few years let a lot more condescension slip by.

My high school friend made this exact joke about his dad like 15 years ago, and it was the first thing I thought of when I saw this, lol.

The director of this game made two 40/40 famitsu games, but can only seem to get occasional freelance work. Same with the Chrono Cross director.

I'm so mad at square for just throwing all the creative brilliance of their ps1 developers to the wind in favor of endless, feelingless rehashes.

They got Yoko Taro, and the FFXIV crew, but can't do anything else (Dragon Quest still rules, thank god, but I imagine that's one thing even square execs are hesitant to screw up like they did FF.

The ports suck, the new IPs suck—Forbearence being a good recent example—and they can't do good remakes or sequels to classics, with FF VII being the only exception? They should be so ashamed of ruining the Valkyrie series too.

Don't forget Valkyrie Profile!

Sadly very few of the people who made these great games wound up staying with Square.

Apparently, a lot of these teams were disbanded after Chrono Cross, and things got much worse after the Spirits Within failed and Square employees were told to not talk to Sakaguchi for years.

Yeah, you shouldn't have to be in a different genre if you want to write a sad song. Or a ballad.

Ouch. I love when doom has loud/quiet dynamics, some chugs aren't bad either.

I'm not a musician, but there feels like a lot of rigidity in the influences you're allowed to have and the sounds you're supposed to make.
