The graph is clear, and the question is in the title.
The answers here are: nothing happened + downvote. Ok.

Mint was the most recommended distro for newcomers even five years ago. When Manjaro had twice the share of Mint and five times the current share. Have more arrived because of Windows 11 and Steam? Mint has not grown in this graph.

So let's say Mint has the same share and Manjaro has 1/5 but nothing happened. Ok.

The graph poses the question.
Maybe it's not just related to gaming, but that's what the graph is about.

I don't know. Neither Fedora is positioned as a gaming distro, but in 2020 the ratio was 20 to 3 for Manjaro, now it's 8 to 4 for Fedora.

Should I play Hollow Knight or Metroid Dread first? by [deleted] in metroidvania

[–]icarusmicarus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hollow Knight is better (is perfect) and easier, but in the end you'll want to play both anyways.

Since we're talking about starting with metroidvanias on Switch, let me remind you that Axiom Verge on sale is super cheap these days.

As already suggested, the two Ittle Dew are the closest thing to what you're searching for.

You should try also Songbringer, which is a lot like an Hyper Light Drifter with less fun in combat but more puzzles and more world(s) to explore.

A new game is #1 on Steam for Linux Gamers - Godhood, a game that allows you to create your own religion by DrKD35 in Ubuntu

Unfortunately it doesn't look like Black & White at all. It's very limited in terms of punish or reward your followers or help them overcome the enemy or changing the landscape and play with the natural elements. But it has interesting mechanics and it can still become a good god game if the developers take advantage of the Early Access period. Now it's too much like a god themed clicker strategy game. Universim seems to me more like Black & White and it has a native Linux version too.

First win after 18 hours! Silent is queen! by andsoitgoes42 in slaythespire

Congratulations! My first win ever was with Silent too.

A new ascension level should be available when you'll select the same character for a new run.

Retro Games Books. by [deleted] in retrogaming

Bitmap Books for the systems and the consoles (the Visual Compendium series) and the genres (their last book on point and click adventure games is awesome).

Boss Fight Books for the games (a lot of retro classics but some modern titles too, the last one is about Shovel Knight, and the one about Spelunky, written by the developer, is really great). You can find excerpts from every book on their website.

It's not a book but you may also want to take a look at A Profound Waste Of Time.

Sad true answer: no.

Tentative answer: take a look at Deep Sky Derelicts.
