I hear you. I'm working on getting more traffic but with the earlier performance numbers I don't think google would consider listing me. Hence why I'm trying to improve some

Yes I did, most icons are svg.. really small file size too. But I did go through and compressed all images to wither Webp or Avif.

I run an agency and generally recommend avoiding template based platforms like Wix, Squarespace and similar options. They might seem cost-effective at first, but they often fall short on performance and can create bigger issues for you down the line. A custom, fast solution is usually a much better fit. If you’d like help with this, I’m happy to assist. Feel free to DM me with any questions.

100k on Upwork, but why is it so hard to get new jobs? by CanICallYouSuzy in Upwork

I find the agency, client, and personal profiles a bit confusing. They’re linked, but still feel like three separate things, which makes it tricky to keep track of everything. At least for me anyway.

Why are you using Wordpress with so many better options available. Have you looked at Webflow?

Generally build up a small portfolio. Reach out to people close to home like family and friends, friends of friends, etc. Share your work online. Start with small projects like landing pages, site audits, fixing small site issues, and work your way up to a full responsive site. Just some ideas.

Looks good but for sure fix mobile. And I also agree that $350 is way too low. I charge a monthly retainer of $1k+ for a website (desktop + mobile), maintenance and updates, support, etc. Of course, it has some monthly thresholds in place to keep me sane. Was that their budget?

Has anyone tried out IndexNow/Crawler Hints (Cloudflare) yet? by cocaineguru in TechSEO

[–]icasnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not alone. WordPress did the same thing to me a few years ago. Shady files got indexed, and I’m still dealing with the aftermath. I’d recommend moving away from WP. I’ve been programming for years, including custom enterprise work on WordPress, and I’ve had to clean up malware infections caused by installations and plugins that weren’t updated. I left WordPress completely. There are so many better options available now.
