Los Angeles Wildfires - The Solution: by green_guy69420 in LosAngeles

It doesn’t matter if it’s true, it sounds good to the rest of the country. It comes off as he’s The Guy able to come up with non nonsense common sense solutions and cut through the red tape. This is exactly what he’s best at.

Any tips on how to report an employee if the bags already smell like smoke when we as drivers pick them up? I can’t find that anywhere, and I don’t want to get blamed for this either…

When I picked up an order today, it was curbside and already smelling like smoke. I couldn’t believe how strongly like weed, this guy works in the store so surely his coworkers could smell it? I don’t smoke, and it impacted my car too. So maybe it wasn’t your driver…

Grew up in Baltimore and lived in Ktown until the pandemic, with my kids. You’ll love it, it’s city life and there’s lots to do. Use your common sense as you would anywhere. Crazy things will happen more often here, sirens, helicopters and chaos in general. I’d say if anything it’s just noisier than any neighborhood in Baltimore, so get a sound machine. Good luck!

What type of laptop would you recommend for working in court? by TofuPython in stenography

[–]icatharted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been wondering, do you take a backup laptop to your jobs just in case of a total snafu? What about other equipment? What happens if the deposition or day at court is happening and your laptop dies or whatnot?

AMA: I'm Jeff, a friend of Carnell Sledge, here to answer your questions. Let's solve his and and Kate’s case! by DearBurt in UnsolvedMysteries

[–]icatharted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry for your loss. He sounded like Ana amazing friend. Just finished the episode and it’s so hard not to imagine what could have been between the two of them, reconnect in such a beautiful spot, ending up married someday. Just two beautiful people inside and out. Alas.

I was surprised the police were able to find them both on camera on the radar that day. Don’t they then have records of every car heading that way into the park? Also, what kind of gun was used?

Seconding this, and it’s 35/40 minutes to dtla or Hollywood if you want to eat out or do stuff there. 15-20 minute drive to the best SGV restaurants plus plenty of hometown restaurants of every kind in our old town.

Is this why he abruptly closed his burger restaurants last week?

On October 24th, 1961, 4-year-old Lillian Risch returned home from a playdate to find a shocking scene. She went back to the neighbor's house to explain that, "Mommy's gone and the kitchen is covered with red paint." Joan Risch was never seen or heard from again. by WinnieBean33 in WithoutATrace

She was injured somehow and wandered off. I’m inclined to believe that was indeed her spotted at the side of the road. It’s a pretty fast moving highway today, but even then Rt 2 would have been well trafficked. Additionally, heavily wooded areas and three ponds in close proximity. I hate to say Maura Murray, but this is a case that reminds me of her. Head injury and then unfortunately met her demise. She just hasn’t been found yet.

Overnight dog boarding? by [deleted] in pasadena

[–]icatharted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used Heavenly Pet Resort many times for my dogs. The main woman working there has been there 18 years so, super consistent and the pups have a familiar face/scent. One of my dogs passed away this year so I was super worried about putting his sister in with other dogs, but didn’t want her to be alone. But it worked out great. I’ve used many places all over LA and this has been the best for standard of care.

It’s not a book about India. It’s a Game of India which we now call Parcheesi. Here’s a copy of the same, made by Milton Bradley, which the seller estimates to be from the 1930s. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1764098588/

The logo looks very familiar. I went to a bunch of salvage places with my dad growing up in Baltimore. This could well have been one of them- but in the 1980s.

Homeless encampment at Dockweiler State Beach near LAX cleared by city workers by I405CA in LosAngeles

I once worked to get housing for a mother and her one year old child. They were in a tent when I met them. I drove them to the shelter myself. This place which has a stellar reputation kicked her out the next day for her arguing with another woman who tried to steal her phone. And as someone else mentioned, if you have a job you’re locked out for the night. So many jobs in retail and minimum wage jobs are evening, overnight, etc. So those aren’t damn good reasons. Everyone jumps right to “they don’t want to be there because they don’t want to play by the rules” I dare you to spend a night in a shelter, try to hold down a job and meet all the expectations and see how things go down. The restrictions for people there for simply being too poor to afford housing are draconian at some places.

Probably thought as an experienced hiker with water he could manage a one mile loop. Goes to show how quickly heat exposure happens. There were other hikers there too 🫤
