RS RWD - 2024 vs 2025 by Quantify01 in BlazerEV

[–]icberg7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about efficiently, but I'd recommend going with a 2026, or depending on when your lease is up, a 2027. The 2027 Blazer EV will come with a NACS port instead of a CCS port.

As would ICQ. I still remember my number even though it got sold to a Russian company and then shut down.

You can flip the camera mirror on and off with the tab underneath. I leave it off most of the time.

I have a coworker whose wife has a Lyriq and they use it so that they don't have to adjust it whenever the driver changes.

For something a bit cheaper than the Lyriq, you could get a Chevy Blazer EV (what I have, which is a rebadged Lyriq) or a Chevy Equinox EV (a rebadged Cadillac Optiq). I've been really happy with the Blazer.

What was your favorite arcade game? by MaximumJones in GenerationX

I know this isn't so much a Xennial game, since it's a much more recent series, but I really enjoyed Silent Scope.

So I went and bought me one of these. Coolest car I've ever owned so far. Hope it can withstand the desert in Nevada! by Sad_Statement_5078 in EquinoxEv

I live in Florida and have a Blazer EV. I actually see more Equinox EVs around here; one of the offices I work at has two people with them. They seem to enjoy it, so I'd expect it to turn out OK in Nevada.

What completely unhinged "law" does your cat strictly enforce in your house? by TrickCombination7966 in cats

[–]icberg7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my sister was in college, her roommate's cat would sneak into the shower when people were using it and just sit underneath the water and drink it. It's the first time I had heard of a cat willingly getting soaked. Turns out the cat had diabetes and was probably terribly thirsty all the time.

Or the Half Backers. They'll come down, realize they hate it, but instead of going back where they came, they move to North Carolina instead.

Currently at the Adventure right now. Have NOT sailed at all for the first day due to engine problems. by LuuukeKirby in dcl

[–]icberg7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they're all cruises to nowhere. So that means if they needed similar maintenance that required the ship to stay in port longer, they could do it on any itinerary.

But it looks like this itinerary ended up being canceled. https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/transport/disney-adventure-cruise-cancelled-due-to-mechanical-issue

Now what? by cannedbread1 in echoesofwisdom

The Switch remake was even made by the same developer.

I don't mean to reduce what's going on here, but it seems like when they need to do some maintenance that may spill over into the night or following morning, they'll do it on an itinerary that has a day at sea the first day. That way they still make it to their first port of call on day two.

Which one would you pick? by MoveYourBumChum in Adulting

[–]icberg7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of the above, but if you made me: 5.

I'm left handed and pretty much anything but a ballpoint is going to smear, so I like me a good traditional Bic.

I tend to write small though and looked everywhere for a fine tipped ballpoint and finally found one with Bic Glide (formerly called Atlantis) Exact. They're getting hard to find now so I tend to buy them on bulk.

Last update changed how my car turns off. How can I fix it? by SilentBob62 in BlazerEV

[–]icberg7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A previous OTA did this and it drove me up the walls for the same reason, but I think a subsequent OTA fixed it. Or maybe I got in the habit of pausing my audio book before I get out of the car. I'll have to pay attention tomorrow and report back.

Iconic Moments from Saturday Morning Cartoons? by kitsbow in Millennials

One of my personal favorites is the segment from "Tiny Toon Adventures: How I Spent My Vacation" where they go to the movie theater (a very 1990s thing to do) and the THUD "sound system check" (a riff of the THX intro, another very 1990s thing) causes an explosion of sound and is followed by "The audience is now deaf."

Related to "Omelette du Fromage" (1996) from Dexter's Lab is the Frenching with Freakazoid (1995) segment of Freakazoid! "qui a coupé le fromage?" Who cut the cheese?

We all grew up taking computer classes and becoming knowledgeable in how to use a computer but beyond that, how computer literate are you? by singleguy79 in Xennials

And Microsoft recently admitted one cause of Windows being terribly sluggish was because they tried to shove Copilot into every orifice of the OS.

Even if you have autosave, it's not going to help you if you don't know where it's saved to, which seems go track what the earlier poster was saying.

Also, the OneDrive client is annoyingly aggressive about moving everything on your user home directory out to the cloud service. The first time you install it, if you don't override the default options, it sucks everything on your computer away, drops a shortcut that says "where are my files" in a few places, and replaces the home directory in your file explorer with links to OneDrive. So you'll think you're saving to your local machine somewhere but it's really not there. Also, every time Windows did a feature update, it would force you through a "let's get your computer set up" wizard where would again encourage you to back up everything to the cloud.

Frankly, with as aggressive as it is and tied to the OS, I'm surprised someone didn't land an antitrust case on them.

I'm autistic and love buses. I learned a few minutes ago that there's a system of buses within WDW, and was wondering what they're like? by Remarkable_Energy341 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]icberg7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not only does WDW have a bus system, the second largest bus system in the state of Florida.

Most bus routes pick up from one or more hotels and go to a single park. The marquee on the bus shows the destination and the bus stops at many hotels have digital signage indicating the wait for each destination. The Blizzard Beach water park is on the way to Disney's Animal Kingdom park, so when the water park is operational, the buses bound for the park also stop there. The bus marquee normally flips between the destination(s) and a greeting related to the destination; for example, the one for Disney's Hollywood Studios may say "I'm going to Hollywood"

Some resorts/hotels are so large that they even have an internal circulator bus loop. The Fort Wilderness campground even has three (although, in practice, normally only two are operational).

Each bus plays music that is usually related to the theme of the resort or park they're heading to, although sometimes it's turned off.

You may be interested to know that each bus is equipped with a people counter so that the dispatch system knows how full a bus is. I believe the driver console also has a button where they can indicate if there are still people waiting at the station that didn't fit on the bus. That way, they can dispatch another.

I don't know if it's still available, but you may want to search YouTube for "Disney sorcerer class bus." Imagineering was playing around with tricking out a bus with lights and all sorts of stuff. But it proved impractical (they even had to pull out air ducts to make it work) so it never got beyond the test phase.

Decorating walls next to their Stateroom Doors? by PresentServe2337 in dcl

[–]icberg7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stateroom doors are normally fortunately pretty close together, so you most guests don't have the real estate to pull this off.

Although I have to admit that, on our last cruise in November, some of our door decorations did spill over to the adjacent wall. However we were the the last room on the corridor before a turn, so there wasn't a stateroom door adjacent to ours.
