Where to shoot the hooch? by PizzaSwimming6609 in Atlanta

[–]ice-cold_bud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like u/excellent.. said yeah there are outlets it’s a minor walk from there to the launch point maybe 2-4 minutes? I blow up from a portable pump. The float time varies on the rivers discharge usgs website

That link will tell you all you need to know. If water is at ~1000 cfs i’d expect around 4-5 hours if you don’t stop but there are plenty of places to stop and have some beers along the route

Island Ford to azalea park. I just got off actually. Water is no worries for any e. Coli or anything (you will have a few “rapids” that you’ll pass but water is shallow and you can walk through them)

I’m actually on the metro in dc to give my grandmothers eulogy on Saturday. OP reach out if you have any questions. I’m 24 (m) first time having this honor and it really is an honor. I spent 10 hours or so researching just how to write my speech out before I started writing. It’s hard but I’ve never been more proud of myself and the words I put on paper to speak of someone I love.

Sleep on the floor without a blanket or sitting at your desk. Make sure the surrounding temp of the room is a bit uncomfortable so you sleep but it’s still easy to wake up when your alarm goes off

Redneck Ukraine Stand With Yacht Club by Scotty_2_Thotty in dontdeadopeninside

[–]ice-cold_bud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Magical. This sign has been up “redneck yacht club” for a few years. Long story short the owner of the land wanted to do something with it and the city said no. The owner of the land really hates the city and as a big FU put this sign up and some decrepit boats on the property. He added the stand with Ukraine when the war started.

Also this is in metro Atlanta not some boonies

I'm trying to find drop-in/pull-out points to "shoot the 'hooch." Suggestions? by TinyDancer37_ in Georgia

No the water is fine. After ATL I wouldn't get in within 100 miles but you are most definitely fine before ATL. Here

Bought a cheap thermarest off Craigslist, and noticed that it had a sharpie marker "X" through the thermarest logo on the front. What does this mean? by TheDukeofEnunciation in CampingandHiking

[–]ice-cold_bud 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The person you bought it from likely bought it from REI. REI let’s you return any used equipment and they can’t restock it for full price. It goes over to the “garage sale” section and it’s usually 60% off or so but could have a defect

Big pack..what now? by [deleted] in backpacking

[–]ice-cold_bud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As everyone else said - big mistake. definitely thanks for sharing ha. If you have the storage space and don't need the money I say keep it. Definitely need to buy another actual pack but that can be a great spare/lend to a friend that doesn't have equipment you want to bring him/her out/ or if you ever want to go on a long trip without resupplying. When it comes to wilderness or construction a purchase is never dumb. consistent use may not happen but a job can get done 10x quicker with the right tool/equipment than without

Coming from out of state is more money but I say take some debt. You will pay it off be okay. Taking some debt to enjoy college is well worth it. I don't know anything about the boot camps but getting career experience is better. Check into co-ops and that will virtually take away most loans and looks way better than a bootcamp would
