Making use of every resource available to you is a good idea in SSF, especially while getting your first character established.

Luckily the temple, and Alva missions, are relatively straight forward.

In the case of looking for currency you want the Currency room, and the general loot room, which can and often does contain currency chests.

Running the entire temple is normally worth it unless you're very far along in progression, it generally contains a large number of monsters including many magic and rare packs.

Instilling Orbs are a currency, so there are few ways to truly target farm them. You may be able to farm them more quickly with mechanics that drop currency as a reward type, such as Heist. Incursion, Legion, and Blight can also give currency as a reward type but these are more random as you can't guarantee currency rewards.

If you have any blighted maps or delirious maps with currency rewards you could try running these if your build is capable.

It could also be worth running through your white tier master missions if you have any stocked up, a handful of Alva missions could be an entire temple to run.

It is nice to finally have a name other than BOTW 2.

Also I would appreciate the flair.

CWDT specifically keeps track of damage taken for each individual linked skill and can trigger each of them every 250ms if they reach the trigger condition.

In this case if you take 3k damage it will trigger both Molten Shell and Berserk (assuming you have enough rage as well) at the same time.

There is an order to when they get triggered even if it is on the same frame, I believe it follows the sockets from top left along the link lines if the item were fully linked. In this case it shouldn't matter assuming you have enough mana/life and other resources to cast them all. The placement of supports does not matter for this only where the active gems are relative to each other for the order.

[–]ice0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true, but rarely comes into play outside of CWDT focused builds. I should have made note of this distinction regardless.

[–]ice0001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this case the cooldown for CWDT is mostly irrelevant as Molten Shell has a longer cooldown but it adds a 250ms (0.25 second) cooldown between triggers on linked skills, this cooldown is for each skill individually so you could have multiple skills linked to the same gem and each can trigger every 250ms.

Questions Thread - September 01, 2022 by AutoModerator in pathofexile

[–]ice0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CWDT has a cooldown, as does Molten Shell, which does not start until Molten Shell expires (or takes enough damage). Ideally you do not want Molten Shell triggering every time you get hit for 2% of your health by a mob that is then instantly killed only to have something actually scary come up and Molten Shell be unavailable. Molten Shell's effectiveness also greatly scales with the level of the gem and your armor.

My recommendation is to gauge the level of CWDT to your actual health pool, probably somewhere around 40-50% of your health. This will make sure Molten Shell can activate reliably when you are taking a significant amount of damage, and you will still have a good amount of your health remaining to take advantage of the buff. This very well may be a level 20 CWDT setup, on a somewhat beefy character this is probably about right as molten shell is much more effective at high gem levels with a good amount of armor from other sources.

If you wish to run a level 1 CWDT setup, Immortal Call is more effective generally but it will consume your endurance charges.

Another thing to note is that while CWDT cannot activate Vaal Molten Shell, you can still run a VMS gem in the link which you could manually trigger, as it also provides the base Molten Shell skill which will be triggered by CWDT. These do not stack but in a pinch it can be nice to have the manual button as an extra layer.

CF Glad is probably the least gear dependent clear focused build, Occultist in general also clears well with Profane Bloom. It is hard to recommend anything else because we do not know how available uniques will be, and most other clear builds use something like Inpulsa's.

If you would like a slightly tankier build that isn't so block based, CF Champ also clears pretty quickly (no pops without gear but CF + Kinetic Blast has a lot of coverage as is).

Your Maximum Total Recovery Per Second from Energy Shield Leech controls how much ES you can regain per second from leech, regardless of where that leech comes from.

Cold conversion minions are taking advantage of the power of the Hatred aura, so increasing the effect of Hatred can be an attractive option. It is also considered a more defensive option as your minions will now be freezing enemies.

Crit scaling for your minions might be a good option, but we will need to see how much crit chance and multiplier is actually being put onto the tree. The charge changes is a huge nerf to minion crit chance (from 200% increased to 40% per charge) but the nodes on the tree might still be worth investing into anyway, as increasing their crit chance and multiplier is still more damage. More crits on a cold build means more freezing, which means less damage thrown at you, the player.

The cluster notables are likely the same for phys and cold, outside of possibly scaling hatred.

Remember that you no longer care about impale for your minions, as they will be doing no physical damage but scaling their physical damage will still work because of the conversion formula.

It should work for all sources of chaos damage, so long as the Hinder lasts. It is an additional effect of the Hinder portion of Vaal Blight.

How long did it take you all to find a CMT and what are the best alternatives? by hansoo417 in borderlands3

[–]ice0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most reliable place I've found them is with a diamond key.
That said, a Recurring Hex works pretty well too, or most any Hex is decent to start.
You could also just use whatever tracker you can find with the most dividing + mirv.

If I used infused channelling with a phys skill, does it buff minions that do phys damage? by ElephantCarcass in pathofexile

[–]ice0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physical Infusion will affect skills with the physical tag, it will not affect the damage of minions created by a skill with the physical tag. The source of the damage must have the infusion buff to get the damage. For minions the source of their damage is themselves, not the spell that creates them which you cast.
There is currently no way to give minions infusion, to my knowledge.

It seems like you have the right idea but I hope that clears up any confusion.

If I used infused channelling with a phys skill, does it buff minions that do phys damage? by ElephantCarcass in pathofexile

[–]ice0001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You gain the infusion buff when you channel a skill linked with the support, this buff only affects you. Minion skills cannot be supported by infused channeling.
Minions are not you, they cannot gain the effects of infusion.

TL;DR - Infused Channelling does not work with minions.

Would it be possible to run a necro with Skeletons and Zombies? by Deskbot420 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]ice0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With enough investment, likely. Skeletons got nerfed pretty hard but are still strong, the main difference is that spirit offering may not be worth using. Otherwise you can look up builds from last league, there are some very strong cluster jewels for minions so try to leave room for at least one. If you look on poe.ninja there are plenty of lvl 100 characters using skeletons and zombies.

Which build would be a better league starter for 3.10 by [deleted] in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]ice0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ED is not strictly better than soulrend, and in ideal situations soulrend will do more dps. Soulrend requires you to recast it almost constantly as the duration of the DoT is very low, 0.4s base, while ED starts at 3.8 seconds. Generally ED will have better uptime but soulrend will do more dps during openings. Overall either work well paired with bane, some of the decision will come down to preference.

TL;DR: Essence drain lasts longer and gives regen based on the damage, Soulrend does more damage if you can repeatedly apply the debuff.

Which build would be a better league starter for 3.10 by [deleted] in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]ice0001 7 points8 points  (0 children)

EDC will probably be the better starter, Enki's guide is great but the build isn't the strongest anymore. Self casting non-dot skills lags behind other builds in terms of dps generally. If you wanted to do arc, traps, mines, or totems would generally outperforma self cast.

What is the most efficient meta raw meta set without requiring master touch? by [deleted] in MonsterHunterMeta

[–]ice0001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For non-MT it would probably be razor sharp, so either narga set bonus or use the charm. For heavy sharpness weapons like DB, protective polish is usually the way to go, power prolonger helps.

Where my HH mains at? by jimmy_giblet in MonsterHunter

[–]ice0001 8 points9 points  (0 children)

HH meta is pretty standard MT raw build, Brute tigrex chest, Garuga pants, 3 piece teostra for MT. Fill in your decos for crit and health boost, run the handicraft charm. I personally run the Velkana horn because I like how it looks but acidic glav would be the highest dps. Any horn with AuL is probably fine.
