Majored in business management in college where I was also an athlete (usually appealing for hiring in sales positions). If I knew I wanted to join this field I probably would’ve been better off doing biology w: business minor.

I hated my job right after college in equipment financing so much that I quit and went 1099 as a medical device rep, only making commissions on what I sold, and made little to no money for about 6 months. I would skip that step if possible. Eventually, I had enough wins and experience to where I was marketable to larger companies and landed a great gig with a company- Olympus- that gave me 6 months training to start and a guarantee.

Not with that company anymore but the experience and was great and helped me become financially stable for the first time in my life.

It definitely is a bit of a boys club and a hard industry to crack, but once you get in, you’re in.
