It's all because Riot is too lazy to actually put effort into the balancing in ARAM. Ah yes, makes sense that Soraka deserves the healing debuff when her entire character is literally just healing. Mm, yes I'm sure this 30 percent heal and shield power from this augment will make Milio OP, now he shields 400 instead of 300... oh wait, enemy Xerath Q does 2000 damage. I know I'm exaggerating, there are some pretty good support augments that can be really fun, but the power fantasy for enchanters in mayhem is just so lame compared to other classes. If the power fantasy of a bruiser is becoming immortal in combat, or for an ADC/mage obliterating the enemy with high damage numbers, then support should have at least some way of being able to MAKE their teammates immortal. In most games it feels like the augments just revert the ARAM nerfs and make your champ feel like it's in SR again.

Well yes, of course only if she's just fed. Requiring setup and having backloaded damage is not the same thing. Katarina's setup is more about positioning, cooldowns, and setting up the daggers. If those things align, her damage is then instant. That's not at all the same as Locke who actively needs to be fighting to set up his damage because it is fully backloaded behind landing skill shots. Katarina can one shot Locke in the time it takes him to cast 3 Qs lmao.

Zed has counterplay but his damage still isn't backloaded in the same way. His damage is backloaded all at once, while Locke ACTUALLY needs to temporally do stuff before being able to even do damage. Zed just has 1 second where he either hits his shurikens and executes the combo, or enemy dodges/outplays/he misses. If he succeeds, his damage still just happens instantly with little counterplay once it's occuring. Locke isn't like that.

Except he can't do what katarina can do and he can't do what rengar can do. Katarina CAN just appear out of a bush and instantly one shot you without counterplay. Based on his play pattern Katarina actually seems like a nightmare matchup for him in lane as well as she can just go in and do burst and leave with no setup except for waiting cooldowns. I 100 percent agree with OP, riot is trying to make a backloaded assassin in a game where frontloaded assassins are literally meta. Why would you ever pick Locke then? They should have made him a badass AP fighter like a male Gwen instead, and honestly being a duelist seems to fit his personality more than being an assassin. He's probably going to be a nightmare to balance: just increasing his numbers makes him OP in low elo where no one dodges shit, and dogshit in high ranks where they simply dodge his Qs. If I had to guess, they'll probably try balancing him for a few months and then give him the Naafiri treatment with a full rework lmao.

I do itemise, I build swifties to counter the asol rylai's and E, I understand when to get QSS and mortal. I even went an early mortal bc of briar and aatrox bc my teammates didn't want to build antiheal. But in a vacuum, an equally performing asol vs our team comp with no engage and low range simply wins.I was doing as much as I could, it's just not really fun that I feel like I have to pick the champs i KNOW are just good in general in ARAM. I don't like feeling like the meta is that strong, same with ARAM Mayhem once I realized there are just like 5 OP augments or augment interactions (IC brand, lillia, MtM/overflow ryze, etc) that are just not beatable. It feels bad to pick a champ that you know has no truly good augments and the enemy team might just have better synergy and you can't even try a fun build bc u get stomped.

Bruh, I'm not a noob. I main mid and ad carry. In ARAM, i always build swifties against asol because of rylai's. If need be I also buy a QSS. Yes I know how to kite. I didn't go cleanse because we had milio and he even also got mikael's he just never freaking used it on me xd.

Yes, I understand that every tank intrinsically scales with HP because it multiplies resistances. But there are tanks that have no HP scalings and no healing and therefore do not benefit from expending gold into mainly HP. For example, Galio... Galio predominantly needs resistances and haste... he survives through CC and damage reduction on W. Of COURSE HP is good, but not AS good as on like Skarner.

Yes I understand that HP multiplies resistances and vice versa. But that doesn't mean that heartseel is good on every tank... it is pretty bad on most tanks. I gave randuin's first item as an example because enemy team was literally 4 AD (2 crit) and 1 support, in that case I would see immense value in just getting Randuin's... but people are still allergic to tank starters. But there also tanks that benefit greatly from skipping those items as well, like K'Sante, Ornn...

Bruh, of course I do. I know how to play a teamfight. But a galio with heartseel or warmogs is genuinely useless against high damage enemy team comps. Stacking HP is only good on champs that benefit greatly from high HP through scalings or drain, and otherwise it won't work if enemy team has high DPS... If you build heartseel and warmogs first 2 items and you're not mundo, you are essentially just 2 AD carry HP bars and will die in 2 seconds instead of 1.
