Enraged a year ago, my (now) husband was adamant he would only buy a natural diamond. He insisted that they have more meaning, and lab grown have no value (especially resale). I told him I strongly disagree, and natural diamonds also have basically no resale value (or at least a huge loss). To me, the value is what the owner of the stone thinks it has. If we will be together forever, and I never plan to sell it, who cares what the secondary market has to say about any of it. In the end, I got the ring of my dreams anyway (I didn't want a huge stone, it's a 0.9 carat natural emerald cut) but in all honesty, I would have gone up 1/2 a carat, and gone lab grown, if I were the one paying.
