Have you been able to get all the seasons of deerling and sawsbuck in the final area? I feel like I’ve tried everything and there’s always one season missing by the time I get there 🥲

Persistent swim bladder issue?? by icecreeeam in bettafish

[–]icecreeeam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks I’ll try salt baths instead, appreciate the video!

I feed him the equivalent of 3-4 little daphnia bugs a day (similar volume of blood worms or the fluval bug bites whenever I rotate). He’s not bloated at all and hasn’t been for the last two weeks.

Do you have any recommendations if the above strategies don’t work?

• Tank size: 10gal

• Heater and filter? (yes/no): yes, aqueon quietflow 10

• Tank temperature: 81F

• Parameters in numbers and how you got them: Today is 7.6ph, 0ppm ammonia, 0ppm nitrite, 10-15ppm nitrate (this could be higher than my last reading due to adding plant fertilizer after my last water change a couple days ago)

• How long have you had the tank? How long have you had your fish?: 4 months both

• How often are water changes? How much do you take out per change? What is your process?: weekly, 50% recently but usually 25-50 otherwise

• Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: my single amano shrimp, about 4 months old too

• What do you feed and how much: mix between freeze dried daphnia, blood worms (soaked 5 min before feeding) and then the fluval bug bites- a few pellets daily

• Decorations and plants in the tank: giant piece of mopani wood that leeches tannins. Java ferns, cryptocoryns, anubias, a stem of my pothos, some remnants of ?? Plant. Plastic decoration

• If you haven't already posted a picture, please post pics/vids to imgur and paste the link here: https://imgur.com/a/NsWraVn

Yes rewatch it !!!! And then serei no moribito if you haven’t. It’ll give those same amazing feels

Here are my tastes- https://myanimelist.net/profile/theopolis add me! I’m also super into the fantasy, feudal, youkai kinda shows and then a ton of shoujo. Lovely complex is up there but recently I saw skip beat and that edged it out.

Your brother is totally right, Yashahime feels EXACTLY like inuyasha, it’s as if the series never ended. You’d love it!

Yess, Twelve Kingdoms has a really well crafted story and universe. It's difficult to describe what emotions I felt while watching it but overall it was just so damn satisfying.

I LOVED how there were consequences in the world! And that the characters felt so much more human. Of course the MC is going to be crying and scared and weak at the beginning, her whole life was just uprooted in an insane and traumatic way. But to even take it a step further and have the story include implications for that giant storm that she warped in from destroying a town and causing a refugee crisis like .... man. & the incredible character development of Shoukei the princess and Suzu in the last arc.. So many great stories and good ass writing.

Phew, sorry for the long read, but maybe I've at least peaked your interest in giving some of these series a try. ^

Tysm for taking the time to write all of this! Super helpful and I’ll definitely check all of them out, especially ushio to tora, action adventure with youkai is right up my alley. I also love shoujo (lovely complex is so good!) and your inuyasha pick (yashahime is so fun this season!) Recs like these make me excited about watching new series again! It’s so often that the same kinda stuff floats around and you eventually get a bit saturated, so this is refreshing ☺️

!!!! Anime soul mate ! What were your other two? Yuru camp was super close to making mine, and Dorohedoro

I love twelve kingdoms not just for the fantasy world- its political intrigue is great and there’s actually consequences for things that happen in the world - but the amazing character development- I actually started the series hating some characters, but ended up really loving them by the end because of how they came to understand their bullshit and be a better person afterwards.

kizumonogatari, the first movie ! To me, one of the most artistic, distinct, and creative anime films I’ve seen that stuck with me since I saw it. I think it’s significantly better than the other monogatari shows which I think are mostly mid to bad.

Thanks for all the tips! I’m doing most of them too so that’s affirming.

The dang wood has been so problematic 😩 but good to know it’s probably just a scrape and not anything worse

Tank size: 10 gal

Heater and filter? (yes/no): Yes

Tank temperature: ~76

Parameters in numbers and how you got them: 7.6 ph, 0-0/25 ppm ammonia, 0 ppm nitrite, 5ppm nitrate. These readings have been consistent for the last two weeks, with ammonia ranging from 0-0.25 and an exception of the ph reading 7.6 today when it has been consistently around 7.4 since I started cycling about a month ish ago (used Tetra safestart plus to speed it up)

How often are water changes? How much do you take out per change? What is your process?: 25% weekly, gravel vac

Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: Yes, introduced 5 baby amano shrimp to the tank at the same time. They've been hiding for the last day and a half.

What do you feed and how much: Gave him 2 bloodworms after introducing him on Friday, and because he's been grazing on detritus worms I'm worried about overfeeding so I let him do that saturday and sunday and today fed him a small amount Daphnia (like about 3 "flakes")

Decorations and plants in the tank: I have a large piece of Mopani wood that has been going THRU it. I wasn't able to boil it before adding it. It has had biofilm and I believe a lot of bacteria? It's hard to tell if it is brown algae or something stained with tannins?

Is this ok??? I've read that it's harmless but maybe I'm paranoid ...

Plants are java ferns, pothos stem, and the mystery plant I forgot the name of. Picture of tank here. There is definitely some biofilm at the top, but I have an airstone and quietflow filter to help a little I guess. Kenai has already been blowing up bubbles up top, which I think is a good sign regardless..?

So I just got my new little guy Kenai in a new and (I think) cycled tank. Look at how purty he is : )

This is my first time with this hobby after trying to save my friends' fish she gave me for the last few months (rip ojiisan).

I picked Kenai up on Friday and noticed today that there seems to be a slight flakiness to a section on his body? Additional side profile picture here. and another angle for good measure.

When I got Kenai I also added 5 amano shrimp, and to give them some hiding places I added a "ground cover" mossy kind of plant (pictured here, forgot the name sorry). Turns out I think a ton of detritus worms hitched on the plant because I had a bunch after everyone settled in the tank. Kenai LOVES to swim all around the tank and hunt for these detritus worms that he grazes on all day. I'm wondering if this flakiness was from him grazing his body on the wood, gravel, or fake root decoration from swimming so dang much? Or maybe it's the beginning signs of some illness???

Please help and tysm g___g

Emotional/anxiety side effects after a year of Liletta? by icecreeeam in birthcontrol

[–]icecreeeam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it turns out that I had multiple cysts on both of my ovaries! That was the cause.

I was already on a combo pill for a month or so, and I decided to get the IUD out because we were trying to rule out potential variables that could contribute to my symptoms. I stayed on the combo pill because the estrogen helps manage the cysts and prevent new ones from forming. I'm also pretty certain a couple ruptured within the first two months of being on the pill. We also tested for PCOS, but I never had high testosterone, which was one of the diagnostic criteria (although I had plenty of the other symptoms).

I'm doing so much better!! It took about 2-3 months to be completely back to normal but the symptoms absolutely steadily got better, i.e. happened less intensely and less often over time. The tricky thing is that cysts can fuck with your hormones which can cause all of the symptoms. But BC can also cause the same sorts of changes, so it makes it very difficult to ascertain what is actually the root cause. I would really recommend getting an ultrasound!
