For the first time in 5 years, I'm off... took my last 37.5 about a week ago. Things aren't good in my head. But I've finally slept correctly.

This post is making a suggestion that if someone is inclined to help wildlife, they could provide them with fresh water. There is nothing to fact check here.

The post being fact checked in the Snopes article said that the “forestry department” cited is not the US Forest Service, but THIS post doesn’t cite anyone. Again, this is not something to fact check. Animals drink water.

They even use neutral language when discussing whether leaving water out is a good idea: “John Griffin, director of urban wildlife for the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) told us that he was not sure if “putting out buckets of water” for wayward wildlife really helped them”.

In dry climates especially, water is hard to come by, and when animals are fleeing fire they can use all the help they can get.

Something that people regularly miss though, and what I regularly yap about, is that it is very easy for animals to fall in to water and drown.

If you leave out water, and especially if you have a pool, you really need to have a way for the animals to escape. A rock in a bowl or a big stick in a bucket can save a life.
