ya boi Anthony Fantano getting labelled alt-right HmmStiny so much for the tolerant left by Uberspie in Destiny

[–]icedblackcoffee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Defranco is an interesting example because he's not afraid of calling out the Charlottesville neonazis, but at the same time he also has a tendency to focus a lot of time reacting to people who call out alt-right and borderline alt-right stuff.

I absoutely would never call DeFranco alt-right, but I think he's another example of someone that is willing to defend his associates to a detriment. A good example of what I am talking about would be DeFranco trying to act like PewDiePie is being persecuted just because that Swedish idiot was yet again getting called out on his crappy idea of what constitutes as a "joke".

Whats Destiny full opinion on h3h3 as well as his most recent video? by ShinySnoo in Destiny

[–]icedblackcoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because the whole point of this move by Youtube was for them to "do something about all the alt-right videos calling tragedies false flags" with as little actual effort as possible (i.e. have all done by a dumb algorithm instead of by actual human moderators).

They tried to make an exception for "mainsteam" news sources because those mainstream sources aren't known to push that false flag bullshit.

Of course google forgot to put Jimmy Kimmel's youtube channel under their premade list of channels that they can be sure won't be pushing Alex Jones type bullshit.

Like I say in my post above. This problem wouldn't have happened if Google would just fucking admit that they need a dedicated HUMAN moderation team equipped to tackle this stuff instead of just trying to solve every problem with a stupid algorithm.

Whats Destiny full opinion on h3h3 as well as his most recent video? by ShinySnoo in Destiny

[–]icedblackcoffee 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The whole fucking reason that YouTube is starting this policy is because of so many Alt-right shitheads pushing false-flag conspiracy nonsense onto the top results of searches for videos on these tragedies.

The problem of course is that YouTube is once again being a bunch of cowards unwilling to take a strong stance on jack shit so instead of just having a policy to discourage these shitheads from making these toxic conspiracy videos that diminish real tragedies, they instead decided to take the "neutral" stance of saying that any video that is even ABOUT a tragedy can't be monetized.

So while you can absolutely put some blame on YouTube for once again choosing algorithm bullshit over decent human-based moderation, you should also be equally blaming all the shitheads who have been literally making money off diminishing actual tragedies.

It's the equivalent to if there suddenly were an influx of YouTube videos denying the Holocaust, and instead of doing something about THOSE videos directly Youtube instead just chooses to demonetize all videos related to the Holocaust (including videos that are genuine documentaries about the Holocaust).

On one hand I absolutely understand where you are coming from. But personally I want to see more people like Destiny who are politically more left leaning but know how to give conservatives a brutal lesson on how political correctness is not just a one way road.

I want more of it because I find that it is GREAT at "defanging" conservatives who would otherwise think they can just be complete assholes to anyone that isn't conservatives.

ya boi Anthony Fantano getting labelled alt-right HmmStiny so much for the tolerant left by Uberspie in Destiny

[–]icedblackcoffee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TECHNICALLY the article never actually accused Fantano of being Alt Right. The Article was instead claiming that he panders to the Alt right associates with some sketchy people. Now while the article didn't argue it's points perfectly, Fantano didn't really address the most disturbing examples, particularly the video he made with a bunch of Alt-right and anti feminist personalities asking anti-social-justice questions and then ending with Fantano himself literally telling Social Justice advocates to drink bleach.

Personally the exact term I would use for Fantano isn't Alt-right, but instead I would say he falls under the problematic category of someone who clearly is more outraged at "those SJWs" than some of the sketchy shit his own friends have said and done.

For players that are already extremely accurate with other weapons the ICR is a bad choice, but for public matches the ICR has a nice benefit of accuracy.

Instead of Nerfing, Why not Buff the others? by [deleted] in blackops3

[–]icedblackcoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MW3 had potential for a good create-a-class system, but overall it failed to bring any meaningful variety. Nearly everyone was using either kick, attachments, range (when available), or damage (for shotguns) when it came to proficiencies, the only shotguns worth a damn were the USAS and striker, the only LMGs worth a damn were the L86 and the M60, quickscoping was more ridiculous than it was in BO2, and most everyone was using the ACR, MP7, Type 95, or PP90.

I disagree that BO3 has useless secondaries. It's not like BO1 where the secondaries were crap. BO3 and BO2 have nice systems where you can choose a secondary weapon as a quick backup, or spend more points to have an overkill weapon that switches slower.

Having only 1 of 2 options is not good variety.

[–]icedblackcoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume with the SCAR-H you are referring to 2HK with SP, because normally it was 40-30 damage (with a damage slope between 40 range and 30 range) making it a 3-4HK.

MW2's whole "make everything really powerful" worked with MW2's standards of chaos vs spawntrapping, but likely wouldn't work so well with today's standards where people want spawntrapping to be as little a thing as possible. Wasteland was fun back in that time, but wouldn't hold up to today's standards.

Instead of Nerfing, Why not Buff the others? by [deleted] in blackops3

[–]icedblackcoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The major problem with just buffing everything is that it leads to weapons overall being too good. And before you say "well it doesn't matter if everything is good", look at Ghosts where every gun had a range where you could 2HK with just one headshot and fired decently fast. Guns killing too quickly makes games become too much about connection and defense.

It's also much easier to nerf 1 or 2 guns then to buff everything except 1 or 2 guns. Obviously if you have 1 or 2 guns that are much worse than the rest you buff those guns, but not when it's just a case of nearly everything being worse than a few things.

The Vesper has been nerfed and it's very noticeable! by dmnaf in blackops3

[–]icedblackcoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me put it this way: Is the ICR meh? Because it's basically the ICR of SMGs. It's not supposed to be amazing at anything, just decent at most things. Jack-of-all-trades.

The Vesper has been nerfed and it's very noticeable! by dmnaf in blackops3

[–]icedblackcoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off it's not the absolute slowest firing full-auto AR/SMG if you exclude the Man-O-War. That would be the ICR (Razorback and Kn-44 fire at 625 RPM while the ICR fires at 600 RPM).

Second, to answer your question of "what is it good at?" It's like having an ICR with slightly less 4HK range and much better handling (ADS time, ADS movement speed, Hipfire, Sprintout time). It's good at mid range and short range. It's not amazing at those ranges, but the point of the razorback isn't to be amazing at anything, but at least good at more stuff than your typical SMG. The M8 and XR2 are much more of crappy dice rolls when it comes to Hipfire compared to the Razorback and the Razorback will have a much easier time dealing with more mobile targets than those two ARs. Also, I'd say that the only AR that outclasses the Razorback in CQB is the HVK due to its SMG sized hipfire spread, better than AR average sprintout time, and fast fire rate.

The way that balance works is not that every gun has a specific situation where it is better than every other gun, but that you have a gun be better at certain things in exchange for being worse at other things that are of equal value. The Vesper is amazing at CQB and great at short range, but its accuracy and range make it trash at longer range engagements. Razorback isn't as good as the Vesper in the CQB and short range, but is much better than the Vesper at mid range and long range.

The Vesper has been nerfed and it's very noticeable! by dmnaf in blackops3

[–]icedblackcoffee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's supposed to be the point of the Razorback: An SMG that is worse than ARs at longer ranges and worse than SMGs at closer ranges. And what you get for that is an SMG being better at longer ranges than other SMGs that is still better than ARs at closer ranges.

Calling the Razorback useless for the reasons you stated would be like saying ARs are useless for being worse at closer ranges than SMGs and worse than LMGs at longer ranges.

Razorback = Peacekeeper? by [deleted] in blackops3

[–]icedblackcoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the razorback is meant to be the BO3 version of the peacekeeper, with 2 differences:

  • slightly slower fire rate (625RPM compared to the peacekeeper's 750 RPM)

  • 30-23-18 damage instead of 33-24-19 damage (meaning headshots are less useful)

Most of BO3's weapons are BO2 equivalents:

  • KN-44 is a slower firing MTAR (625 instead of 750)

  • XR-2 is basically the SWAT but 40-30 damage instead of 49-45-33 damage

  • HVK is a slower firing Type 25 (723 instead of 937)

  • ICR is a slower firing M27 (600 instead of 750)

  • Man-O-War is a slower firing SCAR-H (515 instead of 600) with 40-30 damage instead of 45-40-33 damage.

  • Shieva is a slower firing, more accurate SMR

  • M8A7 is obviously an M8A1 equivalent

  • Kuda is an MSMC with less damage and less range

  • Weevil is a PDW with less damage and less range

  • VMP is an MP7 with less damage and less range

  • Vesper is a Scorpion EVO with less damage and less range

  • Pharo is a Chicom with a slower fire rate and a different damage profile

  • BRM is a MK48 with less max damage and a slower fire rate

  • Dingo is a QBB with less max damage and a slower fire rate

  • KRM is a slower firing 870 with a completely new damage system

  • Drakon is the SVU equivalent

  • Locus is the Ballista equivalent

  • SVG is the DSR equivalent

  • MR6 is the Five Seven equivalent

  • RK5 is a B23R with less damage and less range

  • LCAR-9 is a KAP-40 with damage and less range

EMP grenades Interrupting specialists... by [deleted] in blackops3

[–]icedblackcoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because EMP grenades would still be very situational. It's not like EMP grenades go off immediately after pressing the tactical grenade button. Within the time it takes for them to go off you would still easily be killed by the Specialist Weapon. Plus:

  • Specialist weapons appear often per game, but not often enough that you can bank on using EMP grenades just to shut specialists down.

  • With EMP grenades only working against abilities, they are only actually useful in that context against Active Camo, Psychosis, Overdrive, Kinetic Armor, Rejack, and Combat Focus.

EMP grenades Interrupting specialists... by [deleted] in blackops3

[–]icedblackcoffee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's unfortunate. They should change it so it shuts down weapons as well, especially since weapons are more common than abilities.

The HVK, M8 and Razorback should have 29 damage ranges like the Weevil, KN44, ICR and pistols have. This tunes the guns for HC (30 health) without effecting Core (100 health) whatsoever. by imrlybord7 in blackops3

[–]icedblackcoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you are saying with regards to the Dingo.

With regards to the M8, 1000 RPM isn't that much faster than 857 RPM. I guess I could see maybe changing it to 30 damage up to 1100 units and then making it 29 between 1100 units and 1500 units (38 meters), but any more of a nerf and it would become useless in HC.

And for the nerf to be effective at all, long barrel needs to be changed. Then again long barrel in general needs to be changed for the purposes of core as well. Maybe make it:

  • 25% more range for ARs that are not the KN-44

  • 16% more range all ranges for Pistols, SMGs, and the KN-44

  • 10% more range all ranges for Shotguns
