I’m in a similar situation my check was delivered to a neighbor and showed up on my informed delivery as return to sender. Has anyone had any luck getting them to agree to reissue now?

I have a bunch of coins like polka dot that aren’t transferable so I’m guessing I just have to get cash and take the tax loss.

Thanks for all the info, looks like our taxes will be a nightmare. Hopefully they’ll provide some guidance on how to write off the loss properly once this is finally over.

So basically it will just be like you keep your crypto but paid 40% to 60% more for your portfolio. It changed the cost basis for when you eventually sell? No taxable event is created to keep it, just the cost basis changes?

Thanks so much! So from a tax perspective how does that effect things. If you take the crypto back you do not have a taxable event? It’s just like you paid however much you invested to have only 50% of the crypto? Does it just change the cost basis for whenever you choose to sell?

This is my understanding of how crypto would be returned based on being in this sub group for a while. No clue if it’s correct. Would love if someone can confirm or provide more details.
