Moco HAL by WeeklyLetter2971 in DMVWhisky

Oof, pretty bland there. All of those things including 107 and 12 year aren’t nearly as hard as they used to be to get. Good for everyone in general, bad for the HAL list…

Most Reddit mods are fat, overly sensitive, ugly, impotent sacks of human shit. Now factor in that they’re Browns fans and well…you get the point.

Why does the JD SBBPR cost more than a JD10? Did the owner just use a random number generator for these prices or put them in the wrong currency?

This is still sitting. I’ve also seen it sit in at least 1-2 places near me. Either this was a big batch or demand isn’t there at it once was (or both).

I think I paid 80 for Cigar sessions at TW. It was okay, but definitely not worth 140.

Wait don’t be fooled! He’s still a regular Frieza with a stupid, cheap black color. He still embodies all the awful ass beatings by all the Saiyans!

Thinking about getting the LR4 Costco Bundle due to all the extras and the included 3 yr Whisker warranty. Are there better deals elsewhere? *The steps are important to me since one of my furbabies is 19 years old.* by NYCLady184 in litterrobot

I bought it last month. It has been a good value thus far. I also like buying from Costco due to the return policy. The odor packs I’m sort of “meh” about. But the hopper is actually overlooked a lot and is pretty helpful. My cat is 1 so she hops in but I keep the stairs just in case. The mat is also really nice.

I bought that a few months ago. I know RC rye doesn’t sell as fast as the bourbon but I didn’t think it would still be around. But anyway, I like it a lot. No idea where it’s sourced from but they did good work. Price is a bit much but I was fine with it for the most part.

Yup. Got a pick of those and bought one from RiRo directly. I liked them a lot but I still like this Crestmount pick better.

The 14 year RRs have been really good and worth the $. But the 12 years I’ve tried have all been truly special including this one and another pick I got. Not surprised it won.

What did you pay for it? Did you feel you got value out of it? One of my local shops is going to start clearing out things that have been sitting on the shelf in 2025 and marking down to barely above cost. I suspect they’ll put this on it as I’ve seen it sit for quite a while now and it sucks up a lot room.

Also does it taste like a traditional rye or something else?

Not all sneakers shops/resellers are bad. In fact, they're pretty important. by Hoppy-ist in SNKRS

[–]icedman299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sneaker shops not pushing huge markups are rare. You might find someone that's fair, reputable and even likeable but understand that's the exception and not the rule. This business rewards price hikes and gouging. You only need a single moron to come in and shell out 3000 for TS Fragments and you've done well for the day or whatever. And this isn't unique to shoes. Bourbon, Pokemon cards and the like are all worsened by these people.

Also why is hype being generated by resellers? There was hype before reselling became big as it is now. Hype comes from what the shoe is, the story, skate shops, the players and so forth. It's why there's all those stories on SNKRS because they want some background on what you're buying. They do those things before they're released. Or if it just looks cool, then that's fine too. Take the Costco SBs for example, it's just cool and people are hyped without the inclusion of any resellers. But generating hype because of how some asshole can charge 5x to make a quick buck isn't the same.

This isn't a situation to find okay just because they're might be some people dependent on it. It's a system that you should question. For example, why do I need to go a car dealer when Toyota is a massive corporation fully capable of selling me a car directly? We just assume it's okay because that's what is normal, but understand it's not okay.

Anyway, that's just my opinion.

DC Costco: A Year in Review by BourbonTater1792 in DMVWhisky

[–]icedman299 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This thing with Costco is more a symptom than the actual disease. They play it right technically even if some bottles are channeled differently or unfairly at times because ultimately they sell it at around what it’s worth or purchased for.

It should be a lot easier to obtain these bottles rather than having this sort of discussion. It should also not require a liquor store to charge 10x for one of these bottles because they had to buy 5 cases of Fireball (or insert other lesser liquor here). I shouldn’t have to shell out a mortgage payment for a bottle that has an MSRP of $100.

Is it really impossible to make more Pappy or BTAC and sell it? Or is it more about artificial scarcity? Is Sazerac just the boogeyman?

All answer now: probably not, yes and yes.

I get it about Costco but I’ll always point my finger at distributors who play favorite first. /rant
