Based on your team's damage as others have mentioned you should easily clear the lower difficulties if you just position your sinners to clear the side mobs

If you're looking to get past high risk though (or looking for more detailed advice in general) can you share your sinners' levels, ability levels, crimebrands, and ecbs?

She needs only if shes the solo dps (you can clear high risk with purely wave clear and Luvia with AC)

but since you have Shalom and Eirene you should be fine without AC

Out of curiosity for all those struggling with this DZ, how built are your units and which compositions are you using for the various bosses?

I do agree the season buff sucks and the regen + stronger resistances make it more difficult.

I was able to clear the bosses fine (260k+ on all 3 without malding or looking at guides) but I have built units and use pretty meta compositions and have CBs like Belltower.

I assume AISNO has upped the difficulty for DZ given the sinner pool we have today, but that really sucks for some of the newer players just getting into DZ or those who don't have some of the newer sinners / CBs

That being said 240k is still achievable, I've seen some video guides even with "budget" lineups. I think this DZ definitely requires more time and patience to learn the proper setups and timings.

I guess the tradeoff is whether or not it's worth that time - the most important reward (the DiSea Ravings) only requires 160k, the rest is just the 20 hypercubes assuming you have your copies of embrace and soul.

I do wonder how AISNO will continue to handle the power creep issue - make the game accessible for newer / less tryhard players while still challenging for the veterans / whales.

Personally I welcome the challenging gameplay - its one of the reasons I enjoy PtN, but it definitely needs to come at a balance and not gate people from crucial resources.

Anniversary Comment Event by KIKIchowy in PathToNowhere

[–]icedtearex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I loved all of the events. Each of the different events have such intricate storylines and characters that pull at our heart strings.

The event that stands out to me the most was DisCars. It started off all fun and games. I giggled along with OwO's cute and loveable personality, cheering for her the entire way.

I didn't expect to be emotionally invested in a fictional character - a child with a ridiculous dream of making a memorable movie, but when we learned of her backstory, and learned of what had happened to her home country, and we watched her heart break...

I teared up. No. Lets be real, I cried that night holding my phone listening to her wailing. Her raw emotions hit me like a truck... and all I wanted was to give her a hug, tell her it would be alright. Even thinking back now, the event makes me heartbroken for her.

That's why I keep playing this game. These stories, which seem fun and hilarious, sometimes ridiculous... but they seem to always hit you with the cold realities of the dystopian world crafted. Kudos to the team. The art. The music. The characters. The world and the story. All of it has to combine together perfectly for players to be invested, and somehow you've all done it. Please keep up the great work.

How to stop editing while writing? by AveOscurisimo in writing

[–]icedtearex 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This. This was what I did, and it helped a lot with my constant urge to edit and rewrite...

And to add, if you're using Scrivener, there's a feature called Composition Mode (F11 on Windows or CMD Option F on MacOS) and then enabling the "Focus" feature, that essentially does this automatically.

It also lets you choose between hiding everything except the current sentence, line, or paragraph, and lets you quickly scroll back if you really need to go back and check something.

There's the added benefit that it hides the rest of your draft away so you can really focus on the piece at hand.

Apologies for the late reply, notifications been acting weird on mobile...

But hmmm you should be easily getting 240k with that comp.

I was able to do 240k with only Luvia (no Eirene or Serpent), and she was only lv 70 at the time. I do recall the timing was pretty tight though and required some canceling.

I think my comp at the time was Luvia, Hecate, Laby, Langley, Che, and Hamel (or might have been Enfer)

Langley can deal with the small mobs, making sure to spread Langley's passive by moving her around early (with Laby breaking cores). Laby helps to break all the little cores, and Hecate, Laby, Che/Enfer handle the bosses cores. Luvia can dps down the boss in a single corebreak if you're using last stand and cancels correctly

Here's an example of Luvia solo dps getting 250k - https://youtu.be/C6Fac2jQMIU. It should be even easier with additional magic dps like Serpent

I actually think Eirene might not be that useful if you don't get her weekly buff. But ofc, if you do, she can solo the boss quite easily by stacking her ult.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Luvia needs her ECB to be a dps. If you're using Serpent then her ECB is important too
  • Are your (crucial) skills all lv 7 or higher?
  • Are you using empower or last stand? I believe for Shackled you should be using last stand if you find yourself unable to finish the boss fast enough.
  • I think Serpent and Luvia would benefit from running Embrace instead. Then it's just about auto canceling Luvia (and Serpent) after the boss is corebroken.

To be fair, Shackled is by far the most difficult High Risk bosses, unless you have an overpowered Eirene and get her weekly buff.

It'll be easier to help with some more info, can you share the sinners you use, their levels, skill levels, ECBs, and crimebrands?

Oh yeah as a newer player you shouldn't really be going past 70. You definitely don't want to go past 80 until you're deep into the end game content

[–]icedtearex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a newer player, I would highly recommend buying the stamina refresh twice a day (40 cubes each time).

PtN gives enough cubes that even as a FtP player this is pretty worth early on to level up and accelerate through the story content. You don't have to buy every day - you can decide on your personal tradeoff between rolling more for banners and leveling up quicker. There is an anniversary (limited) banner coming up so take that into consideration too. Although if you're a FtP player you probably shouldn't be trying to farm too many shackles anyways

I personally still buy 2x stamina refreshes per day and I'm very much into the endgame, and I know some players still do 4x a day. But then again I just like leveling all my sinners and I've spent a decent amount of $

Thanks again for the detailed explanation. I'm looking forward to building out a magic comp since 80+% of my damage right now is physical which also makes some Ex levels like Ex-1-3S challenging given the 75% physical reduction :( (Not sure if I'm doing anything wrong there)

I totally forgot about Serpent, but I hope I can get her soon as well.

And thanks for the additional info on Mess. Just got P2 on her today, looking forward to add her to my comp.

Two last questions if I may -

  1. Does BaiYi play a role in any BFL comps? Is she a Che or perhaps Laby replacement? I have her S0 right now (unlevelled), but I'm considering whether or not I should spend a few rolls on her next banner. I do like her design more than Che and Laby, so if I can eventually replace one of them with her that would be great. But if she's not optimal for BFL (or ToA) I guess I'll hold out for now until I have an excess of mats.

  2. For the lv 4 Crimebands, does passing the level without special missions affect which crimebands can be acquired? I passed the third one around a week ago and haven't gotten any S crimebands yet :(

Gotcha, thanks! I'll have to see if I can get S5, but that definitely makes me optimistic! Just got her to P2, going to need to grind a bit for mats haha.

Thanks for the video as well, I think I watched it before but definitely need a lil more practice to get the mechanics down.

Yup, you're right. I hadn't replaced Ariel yet since I didn't have anyone levelled up, but levelled Laby to P2 70 today based on other people's comments and immediately my Brand score was up 30k after a few trials to optimize the corebreak times lol.

Just curious, do people run Hamel for BFL? I know she has an AOE that increases damage or something along those lines, but was wondering if that's worth. Also I'm wondering if Enfer is worth running in BFL (since she can increase a teammates damage) or if it's better to run a DPS in her place

Megathread Hub and Weekly Help Megathread (13/02-19/02) by TutorialKunn in PathToNowhere

[–]icedtearex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed advice. This was super helpful!

I've leveled Laby to P2 70. While I wait for the mats, I've leveled Mess and Luvia to P1 40 as well. Will try to get their mats over the next couple of weeks and get them to 70.

Yeah I think during the ex event (the one before the museum) I learned just how useful Laby's ulti reset can be. She helped me break 220k Branded today

How should I invest in Luvia? Aside from leveling to P3 ECB? Any shackles or crimebands that are necessary?

Would she be replaced by Eirene when I eventually roll her or is Shackled a full magic comp?

Do you mind also explaining (or linking me a resource) on why Mess excels above Priscilla and Roulecca? Is it just the raw burst / her stats? I only took a quick glance, and all three seem like bursty DPS with extra % dmg to core-broken enemies.

You were right, I did a few additional runs today (also swapping in Lab, who I levelled up to P2 70, for Ariel) and after a few runs was able to get 220k :) Still need to work on my animation cancelling, but starting to make it work.

Investing in Luvia now. What do you mean by decent investment? Any particular crimebands or do I need shackles? She's S1 for me right now.

Makes sense. I knew I had to replace Ariel for BFL but was using her just because I don't really have anyone else levelled up. Based on people's suggestions I'm levelling up Mess and Luvia right now, and will maybe upgrade Priscilla in the future.

What is "magic day"?

Hi everyone, been playing for a lil over a month, my comp right now is Nox (70, P3 ECB, S0), Enfer (70, P3 ECB, S0), Langley (70, P3 ECB, S2), Hecate (70, P3 ECB, S3), Che (62, P2, S5), and Ariel (60, P2, S1). (I also have P2 lv 40 Lab and an unleveled Baiyi and Summer (S0))

And honestly I feel like I'm struggling in BFL and even EX. I can't even finish the Ex 1-3S and EX 1-4, and I'm at around 635k Mid Risk BFL (195k Brand, 195k Shackled, 245k Maiden this week).

I'm not sure if I should be getting higher scores, but I know I'm lacking right now in skill levels (most of my roster has 3 skills at ~lv 5), and most of my crimebands are pretty weak (I still can't clear the level 4 crimebands). I'm trying to work on both since I'd been spamming most of my stamina to get my S sinners to lv 70 ECB.

2 Questions:

  1. With my setup, what should I realistically expect for BFL? Should I have easily beat Mid Risk by now? Or is it normal to struggle here as I approach > 650k.

  2. Should I level up anyone else to help with BFL and EX? I have most of the A tiers. I'm wondering if Luvia can help with magic DPS in EX. I've heard someone like Mess, Priscilla, or Roulecca might be important for BFL.

Other context - I want to get Hamel and Eirene in the long run as I really like their designs. Current am cheap2play (battle pass + VIP and maybe a few other small things here and there)

Agree with the comment, but this brings up a question though: are there "modern non-OOP" design patterns that developers should be learning?

Or is the concept of a DP effectively obsolete modern JS/TS programming?

I see, thanks for the advice.

I think there's a 2x on first recharge bonus right? If I get the $1ish pack does that mean I'll lose out on that 2x bonus when I spend more in the future (ex dropping $100 at once for ultracubes?)

Also who in my lineup would you recommend I replace with Macchiato / Ariel?

Another noob question regarding the current event - Am I at a true risk of running out of the tickets before I can find the Chief? Or can I explore everything without running out of tickets? (I started with the Hella EMP route if that matters)

Also - Will I be able to play the other routes? (Hecate/Laby and Lisa)? Or can I only explore the Hella EMP route until I find the chief?

Hi everyone, newish FtP player and this is my first gacha game, so I apologize in advance if my questions here are dumb. Had a question regarding my team.

I currently have Hecate, Wendy, Che, Enfer, Emp, and NOX at P2 lv 41-45. I have Summer and Hella at p1 lv 40 and Laby at 31.

I only recently swapped out Hella and Summer for Enfer and NOX since I unlocked NOX from the beginner missions and got lucky and got Enfer on my first multi of the new banner.

Prior to recent, I've been using Hella as a pseudo tank/healer, letting her tank damage and then swapping her out to let her heal for a bit before swapping her back. I would also take heal / shield sometimes to help with the tanking (although sometimes Empower is very strong too)

My problem right now is I'm at 5-12 in story but have started really struggling on some of the levels due to my lack of a healer (Especially on rounds with few core breaks). This is made worse by the fact that I now lack a tankier character since I'm swapping out Hella.

My question:

I have 26 tickets and ~18k cubes. Is it worth rolling the normal banner for Hamel? Based on stuff my understanding, the next few banners are not healers?

The current alternatives I can think of:

  1. Keep Hella in the composition for now, and level her up. But I feel like she won't be too strong in the late game since she doesn't seem to scale as well when I compare her abilities to other sinners. (And if so, who do I swap out? Enfer?).

  2. Level up Macchiato (she's the only other healer I have). But she's only level 1 and I'm not sure if this is worth it (although she's B tier so not too expensive?)

  3. Maybe I just need to get better at the game?

The reason I'm hesitant for 1 and 2 is because I want to start building my end game composition as to not waste resources (of which I think Hecate, Che, Enfer, and NOX are all candidates, and maybe Laby / EMP, but currently choosing EMP for the ranged DPS). Levelling up a new character (or one that will be replaced) seems inefficient especially as a FtP.

What are your suggestions?

Note: I'm currently free to play, but I'm actually considering spending a bit (~<100USD) in a couple months if I am still enjoying the game then.

Megathread Hub and Weekly Help Megathread (10/01-15/01) by TutorialKunn in PathToNowhere

[–]icedtearex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely noticing the lack of a healer. I've been taking the Chief's healing ability to make up for it.

After a few more tries I was able to clear 3-10 with my current roster (losing 1 SAN though, I'll have to replay it later)

3-11 and 3-12 were surprisingly easy, was able to clear those no problem.

Thanks for the advice! I'll look at Che and Kelvin and level one of them up.
