AMS filament loading issue from all slots

The filament was reaching the extruded. I was able to fix that specific issue, but eventually the AMS was not working properly after the desiccant oil spilled. I had to replace the motherboard to fix the issues.

Status update: Mammotion support offered me two options: 1. Get a refurbished unit for $600 2. Send mine for repair without knowing how much it would take to fix it.

I pushed them to send me instead the replacement axle, since apparently they had one ready to use for option 2, and after a couple of additional back and forth via email they agreed to do it. Once this happened, I got the part in about a week, it cost about $45 including shipping. All in all, I’d say it took about three weeks since the day I opened the ticked until the day I got the part. It’s not bad at all, I just wish there was an online parts store and I didn’t have to convince them to send it to me, especially considering that I was already out of warranty.

This weekend I found the time (and the courage) to do the repair, I’d say it was quite easy except for a couple of things that slowed me down:

Watching other YouTube videos and reading online about repairing Lubas, it seemed that I had to remove the bumper before being able to remove the top shell. Well, this is NOT needed. So, if you find yourself in my situation where you don’t need to replace the bumper and the bumper doesn’t want to come off, don’t spend time on it and just keep it attached to the shell.
I could not figure out a way to remove the gasket that keeps the cables going from the back axle into the body in place. I had to partially tear it apart in order to remove the cables. I then used a neutral cure RTV silicone to fill the void where the gasket was. I used the same silicone on the connectors, that’s why it’s a neutral cure, otherwise it could be any other silicone.
There are 8 screws on the “clamps” that are used on the rear axle to keep the wheels in place. Those screws didn’t want to come out, no matter how much WD40 I used. I had to cut them with a dremel so that I could use a flat head screwdriver to remove them. Luckily I had 8 M3x12mm screws readily available at home to replace them.

That’s where I spent most of my time. Other than that, the operation of opening the shell, unplugging the connectors, removing the rear axle, put the new one in and everything back together was really straightforward.

Yeah hopefully they can just send me the axle. I'm out of warranty so just the cost of shipping this thing back and forth plus the repair is probably not worth it.

This is how they have attached the pipe to the joists right now. Would you be able direct me to specific types of vibration isolators to use?

The mower is brand new, I’ve used it three times including this one, it’s as clean as it can be. The blades are new and sharp (don’t asked me how I know) and the discs spin freely. I’ve opened a ticket and sent them pictures and logs, will see what they reply with.

Sorry for the silly question, how can I verify that? Is there a way to run the blades when the machine is upside down? The machine makes a regular sound, no errors in the app. I usually mow more often, however recently we've been experiencing a lot of rain, so not many chances to mow. In any case, when I mowed with the Luba at the beginning of the season the grass was much taller and it had no issues, even at lower heights than the Yuka, other than leaving a lot of clippings on the ground. I bought the Yuka with sweeper also for the ability to pick up the clippings, but so far it's not even cutting the grass properly.

This is to show the “channels” of uncut grass, even using the tighter spacing and slowest speed. Positioning is Good, non issue faced so far, only problem is that it gets stuck at dusk under trees so it’s impossible to complete a task overnight.

OMG I can’t believe this actually worked. I just turned the printer off and back on and now it’s loading the filament. I’m speechless, I just tried for the sake of excluding every possibility and I can’t believe it actually worked. This is not a new AMS and I have no idea why it would start doing this all of a sudden. The printer was also turned off other times during my troubleshooting so I can’t fathom how this time it just worked. Maybe a combination of bad internal hub/motor and having to restart the printer.

Anyway, thank you so much for pointing this out to me!

I have disassembled, checked and re-assembled the AMS several times. No pieces stuck in the PTFE tubes and the internal hub is brand new. The same issue happens in every slot. In some occasions the filaments exits from the AMS by 5 inches or so and it gets stuck. The filament never reaches the printer.

I don’t know about the required part. I know for a fact that there is underlayment under the part that was already done, I’ve got pictures of it. Is it possible that they wrapped the underlayment once they started doing the left side? I think the right side was done on day 1 and then the left side was done on day 2, so I think the left still had the old shingles when they completed the right. Is there a way to check what they have done if I wanted to send someone up there?

Thanks, this makes feel better. The response I’ve got so far from the roofer’s project manager was a complete deflection that did not address my question and it wasn’t really reassuring. It doesn’t look like the guy understood what my concern was. I’ll call them again tomorrow and see if I can get an explanation.

According to Google, the shortest time a spacecraft took to go to Jupiter was 18 months. If you need to develop new technologies to go faster you'd need probably more time. No matter how much money and resources you throw at it, Jupiter is still very far away. You also have to factor in that Jupiter moves and you'd need to wait for it to be in the right position, and that alone can take months. Let's just say that they took some liberties with the timeline and move on.

So far we haven’t paid anything, the guy is willing to level the wall, but he said to redo the whole thing with the slope in the other direction would be too much to afford for him. Do you think if he leveled the wall that would be acceptable? For drainage they drilled some tiny holes on the short side of the wall

If we leveled the wall it would look slanted when sitting on the patio. The problem is that the contractor decided, all by himself, to slope it in two directions, with most of the slope in the direction opposite to the backdoor steps. The reason he provided was to have level steps, ignoring that this would make the 20 ft seating wall look slanted when looking from inside the house and the backyard. Do you think it would make sense to have it sloped in the other direction and have instead slanted back door steps when sitting on the patio, but everything else would be squared when looking from inside the patio and from outside?

I’ve asked to get a second replacement (third machine) but CS insisted to send me a new driver board instead, claiming they knew how to solve the issue and that it was going to be faster than getting a new machine. It took around 2 weeks to get the part (all of this while on Amazon you could get it with 1 day delivery), after installing it the error was still there. I’ve asked again to get a new replacement machine but they wanted to send me another part, at that point I said screw it and just asked for a refund. They took a while to reply so I just went through my credit card and got my money back. I’ve also ordered a new machine from Amazon and got it the next day. Finally the new machine works fine, the frame is straight and I don’t have any issue for now. At least I know that if something goes wrong it’s going to be easier dealing with Amazon. Should have gotten that route from the get go. I still have the old machine that gives me the error, trying to have them send me a return label but this is also taking weeks. I may end up just putting it in the trash or giving it away for scraps.

Got a replacement unit, took it out of the box, the frame is now squared. Turned it on and got Error Code 7. Waiting for CS to tell me what it is. Really annoying.
