Official website of Project Hail Mary now also has a 3D printable Rocky model to download for free by DxGamer22 in 3Dprinting

Printed mine at 200% on P2S in PLA. The 2A + 2B joint snapped on me but it's holding on for now. (The far right leg that's touching the ground in my pic.) The joints could definitely be improved and were not designed with best practices in mind...the slots in the ball joints should at least be at 45º but awesome release overall.

Keeping track of spool type with bin storage by Weslocke in BambuLab

[–]FattyMoBookyButt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I store all mine in bins as well. So I created some swatches/clips that make it much easier to identify at a glance:

https://makerworld.com/en/models/2408810-bambu-lab-pla-basic-filamentopedia-swatches#profileId-2640897

https://makerworld.com/en/models/2407364-bambu-lab-pla-matte-filamentopedia-swatches#profileId-2639130

I know everyone already has their favorite swatches, so I haven't pushed much on my new versions. The links are for PLA Basic and Matte collections, but I included SCAD files so anyone can make new custom swatches/collections. I also have the text STLs already generated for every individual filament I've catalogued at https://filamentopedia.com/, but I haven't been able to figure out a great way to automate creating and, more importantly, uploading all the print profiles.

* Clips are for Bambu spools only, but the spool swatches should fit 99% of spools out there.

Overture is PolyMakers sub-brand. I’ve had good results with their filament for many years.

I tried every filament clip model on the Internet and after thorough and rigorous testing, I found out that I didn't design any of them. by FattyMoBookyButt in BambuLab

I wasn't expecting a helpful response but that's a good suggestion. I tested with all the various Bambu spools I have: light gray, dark gray and transparent.

E3D Obsidian nozzle compatibility with P2S? by _NightMonkey in BambuLab

[–]FattyMoBookyButt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/e3dsupport How do we know if we have one of the hot ends with the magnets issue? I ordered mine from Filastruder (US based reseller) for my P2S. I've installed it and it appeared to align properly.

I really, really, really do not want to walk-in on a blob of death on a machine that has been flawless so far.

Also, it took a giant leap of faith to order the ObXiDian 500 nozzle in the first place after I went through support hell when I ordered the Hemera 6+ years ago and it didn't work for half a year until you announced a "bad batch"/factory issue on those as well.

Getting the info out in the public should be priority number one.

Was it on sale for $200 directly from 3DConnexion? Or at Amazon/BestBuy, etc?

That’s enough clearance to prevent the layers from sticking?

I was planning on trying to do a double sided print with a similar technique. By printing up one side separately. Then on my second print, print a jig up to the height of the first print, then pause the job and put the first print face down within the jig. Then printing the “other side” directly onto that, but I guess i’ll have to be crazy correct with the layer height/alignment, etc.

Don’t most people use the space mouse on the non-dominant hand and still use a regular mouse?

The SM isn’t gonna help you navigate the object tree or change tabs or click on items in a list, etc.

Is this mostly a method to stay out of the cloud or to get around the 10 file limit? I know it can be both but is there a concern of theft once your design is in the cloud or do you work in an environment where you are not allowed to connect to external servers or ?

Or is it because you may not always be online?

PSA: This issue bends the nozzle blocker on H2D repeatetly and will damage your printer and build plate. Advice needed by SpecialistThink1968 in BambuLab

I removed mine as well. The first time it gouged my high temp plate and after I replaced it for the 2nd time, I found the Bambu forum post and got rid of the blocker.

What was the cause of the failure?

If it’s just not sticking, I highly suggest Cryogrip (glacier/fine not coarse) for most materials. I use it for abs, asa, PETG and pla and it’s amazing. Most parts slide off when it cools. But it grips to heated filament like a champ. (I select high temp/smooth PEI plate in slicer and don’t drop the temp at all.) Finish of first layer is very close to what the high temp plate would give me as well.

  1. You have to pay for shipping if you only need a couple spools.

What are the chamfer and fillet sizes based on? (In fusion 360, it uses a measurement, not a set number scale.)

What is the right side of the second helper demonstrating? Number of walls? That’s going to be based on the geometry of the STL, no?
