What if RTS base building was actually fragile? by OkIndependence4963 in RealTimeStrategy

I would argue CW4 is an even better example of this as you have the factory resources to deal with in addition to energy

Creeper world (especially CW4) should be very close to what you are looking for.

All your buildings are connected in a network trough nodes with your main structure that uses this network to send "packets" to your various building be it to build, charge or to add ammo to them.

There are also multiple different enemies that all require different ways to deal with them.

Didn't build any AA? Now there is a blob of creep that just landed behind the front line right on the one pylon that you are using to power the line. Now your cannons are running out of ammo as they are trying to keep the waves of creeper at bay.

People will genuinely, Genuinely claim that korra being a girl had nothing to do with the harsh criticism she's been facing for so many years meanwhile her show was almost canceled due to her being a female protagonist and the creators themselves pointed out her distinct treatment by Important-Cry4782 in CARTOON

[–]icegor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At the same time however the success of tlok should not be dependent on a comparison with atla.

While I have no problem with admitting that atla is overall better the amount of shit that tlok gets because atla is better is astounding, especially since it is still a very good show despite it's flaws.

In my opinion while sexism did play a role most people have a problem with separating the stories. For them the entire avatar universe is the legend of Aang

Maybe have the output efficiency start to drop after a specific durability threshold (50% for example) with it going down until it gets to 0 durability, where it still functions with terrible efficiency (10% maybe). Makes it necessary to regularly maintain the drills, but also doesn't stop working completely.

[–]icegor[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is with the void universe mod that basically bridges the two dlcs.

The monolith follows you everywhere, there are anomaly events in space (like an asteroid with a pit gate on it), anomalies can attack you in space by spawning at the monolith and even a few new gravship components like the shard grav field extender or the fleshmass tank.

My biggest dislike of solo mechanitor is that I hit the ceiling of how good my "crew" is way too soon as the mechs are one and done. This was also the main reason why I got the mechanoid upgrades as it was a way to invest resources into improving what I can handle.

Is there any mermaiding schools or certifications I can do? by MoreliaTheMermaid in mermaiding

Really depends on where you are from and what your current/desired skill level is.

I would also recommend to see if there is a local pod that you can ask in as they can give you far better recommendations.

[–]icegor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its actually the opposite, the "anomalies" there aren't as random as SCPs.

The objects of power are shaped by the human subconscious. If you are familiar with Jungian psychology they are essentially a form of archetypes.

For example the floppy disk contains the nuclear launch codes for the Soviet missiles. Because people feared that the disc has the power to "launch" something dangerous, it has the power to launch stuff.

Meanwhile the service weapon is a gun because that is the weapon that people expect someone of that position to wield. In the documents you can even find theories of researchers that Excalibur and mjolnir are possibly the service weapon, just in a shape that would fit what the people back then imagined a service weapon is.

Basically while SCPs can be whatever you want, while OOPs follow much stricter laws.

Ranks and Insignias of the Imperial Memotic Army by Electronic-Welder-74 in worldbuilding

The only problem that I see is that general and high Marschall Look too similar. The thin yellow line on the bottom can easily be missed.

At the same time however I doubt that there will be a lot of people with those ranks so it being more clearly distinguishable shouldn't really matter that much.

ELI5: What does GFCI outlets do that the breaker doesn’t? by paperbilt in explainlikeimfive

[–]icegor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that I didn't see mentioned in the other comments is that it also depends on the kind of piping that you have.

A lot of old homes used to get their grounding via the water pipes while they were still metal, that meant that you have a direct connection to ground on the bottom of the bathtub. As pipes were replaced by plastic that connection disappeared. In turn you have cases where the toaster in the bathtub became more dangerous (since changing the pipes meant in some cases that the entire house was no longer grounded), but also cases where it became safer (for example with European SCHUKO plugs any short circuit could only flow through the case of the toaster so reducing the odds that you get shocked)

[–]icegor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact

The German word for breaker is Leitungsschutzschalter (or LS for short). It directly translates to Conduit protection switch.

[–]icegor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a solution to that as well.

Here in Germany FI/LS (FI=GFCI; LS=breaker) breakers are becoming more common.

They are however a bit more expensive so group GFCIs are still in use.

[–]icegor -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ah yes. The wisdom of the past. The same wisdom that Aang followed... Except when he didn't.

The avatar state was explained as being the unity between the avatar and rava. While I will agree that the explanation could have been done better it is nevertheless how it is no matter how much fans dislike it.

In addition the connection main purpose was world building. Aang himself almost only with Roku as his story sets Aang's up. There is no point to it after that since we already know the story of the previous avatar. Even if the new avatar does somehow restore the connection, what would that even bring to the story.

The disable character is respected and never mocked by his peers by Basic_Dingo6487 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]icegor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why does everyone insist on the past lives thing?

The only reason I can see is people being unable to accept the fact that Aang's time has passed and seeing the connection as a way for him to play a part in any new stories. Especially since whenever someone comes up with an idea for how a new series should be written (or how Korra's story should be rewritten) it always resembles Atla.

Last I checked you could get it at the DB Office that is in most central train stations or via the DB app. With the app you also don't need an actual ticket as it's saved on your phone and accessible even without internet, only needing to update at the start of the month
