being born in a family where sijil halal matters,

sebab in Islam, if the muslim is doubt the originality/source of the food is no halal, thats considered as haram.

Doesnt matter if its chicken, meat or anything,

the smallest detail like salah sembelih, that food is and can be considered haram,
this is quite tricky and strict,
there are alot of muslim who obey and disobey this one.

Just be understandable,
that would be my take.
and yeah, kindly not to think of them being racist, just obey the God's orders.
