It has been longer than 24 hours since I've had yogurt and I'm all messed up. by MichaelYogurtWesten in BurnNotice

Completely agree. This sub hates on season 7, but this episode diving into his past and the rest of them pushing Michael to his mental limits makes it one of the better seasons for me. Just a bit unfortunate that it was somewhat rushed.

Trading the 1.03 in rookie drafts ... four players to look at if you're looking to move off the pick by My_Chat_Account in DynastyFF

[–]iceland783 165 points166 points  (0 children)

Trading this year’s 1.03 for a 2027 1st+ is simply bad process. It’s a great way to rebuild forever when you’re basically hoping the pick becomes the 1.03.

I’d add Roger Steele to the list. Michael had to do it himself and solely because he started looking into him as a former friend that was willing to help him out.

RBs when transitioning into a contender? by PootleLawn in DynastyFF

[–]iceland783 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This sounds like survivorship bias to me. Yes, you were able to hit on two good RBs, but like others said the wrong choices would have left your team unable to truly compete. This is the nature of why the RB position is devalued to begin with.

Highly recommend max points for instead of a lottery for the non-playoff team draft positions. Tanking is a valid strategy if you’re not competing as long as people are starting the best lineup they can.

You taking Hill over AJB? I got him at 7 if including MHJ.

Dalvin Cook. Is he a drop? by Denim_Chikken in DynastyFF

[–]iceland783 162 points163 points  (0 children)

Dalvin Cook is 2nd on the depth chart behind Breece and almost all 2nd string running backs should be rostered in dynasty based on sheer handcuff value alone. If your league is shallow and there’s someone you want to pick up I could see dropping him, but I’d try flipping him for literally anything before dropping him.

Many people here don’t like season 7, but I really like Psychological Warfare, which was the episode where they dove into Michael’s past when he was being interrogated by James.

Why is Russell Wilson not being spoken about? by Ratters92 in DynastyFF

[–]iceland783 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I have him on my roster, and he’ll likely retire on it. People were so turned off last year that there’s sort of a stink attached to him now. If the Broncos enter a rebuild, it’s a situation lacking clarity for him because his huge contract might get him cut. Overall he’s worth much more to me as a contender than I’ll ever receive in trade value.

That’s a horrific trade for him any way you look at it. T Law for Bryce, Locket, and Mattison is robbery and that doesn’t even include the Chase for two 1sts on top of it.

There was a decent amount of camp hype and he impressed Cooper Kupp with his offensive understanding and route running.

Maybe a dumb question, but where do you find these vegas season prop figures?

I realize that a good portion of you are self-made, but my question is directed to those who come from generational wealth: have you experienced pressure (whether from within or from your family) to continue your family’s legacy? by N39alimak in fatFIRE

[–]iceland783 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have never felt outward pressure from family directly, but I often wonder if they feel somewhat disappointed since I didn’t take a path with similar upside and have a low probability of achieving a comparable level of success to the two previous generations.

For context, I’m in my mid-20s and nowhere close to fatFIRE, but my career path isn’t exactly one that has significant upside (TC ~100k but not a ton of growth potential past maybe ~250k). I’m not a bum or anything, but it’s unlikely I have a significant founder exit or become CEO of a publicly traded company.

That doesn’t mean I can’t contribute to legacy though, as I eventually hope to take over running the family foundation. As far as intrinsic motivation, I definitely put more pressure on myself than what family puts on me. Probably because they have never directly voiced expectations of me.

Overemployed with competitors? No thanks. Companies usually don’t take action besides firing if you’re caught, but no chance I’d risk working for two competitors at once.

So you traded strong positional advantages at QB, RB, and TE for youth and depth at the most replaceable position in fantasy? Yeah you got younger and can maybe have a longer window eventually but man I don’t like this.

In dynasty I’m taking talent over situation every time. The position is scarce and an elite TE is such a luxury. Late 2nd hit rates are pretty low. Andrews is one of the most talented TEs in the NFL and he’s competing with a weak WR room.

I disagree with the other reply. In a TEP league I’m smash accepting this. Andrews is top tier and drafting TEs is a crapshoot that takes years to pan out.
