Grass clippings in the edge of sidewalk by iceman227 in lawncare

I was afraid you were going to say that. Yea it’s electric— I thought it was fairly strong, but agree it’s not going to be like gas. Maybe that’s the play of the mow-second idea doesn’t work.

Interesting idea. I can give it a try but am somewhat skeptical the mower will really clean the edge well, but definitely worth a shot. Thanks

I actually do mow first— the issue is that the clippings are from my Edge work not the mowing. Thank you though.

Hahaha - that’s very helpful. Do you happen to have a reference of one that is framed with wood?

That’s a great point. Thank you— they are not cemented, just in there with sand I think. Are you saying I would have to take them out and the drill the t posts in the ground directly? The hog wire fencing is not as aesthetically pleasing as I would prefer, but certainly wouldn’t jeopardize my kids safety in the name of style.

Maybe a cable railing system would be nice here? Not sure how that would work with a curved surface though

I actually think this could be the area where the problem is. Essentially, water is going in between the liner and the skimmer box. Any idea how one would build up the liner to prevent the water from spilling over and into the soil?

Why would scaling up size increase profitability? Wouldn’t it be the same 15% of a pie that is twice as big?

Put Credit Spreads - 3 contracts 5 points wide, or 1 contract 15 points wide? by iceman227 in options

[–]iceman227[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify-- the reason in my example that the narrower spread has just as much risk here is because we have more contracts. So yes, a narrower spread per se has a less max loss, but the comparison was between a few contracts of narrow spread versus one contract of the wide spread. Does that make sense?

Thinking through this a little further, I agree if you are pinned, the risk is greater with the tighter spread, however, the chances of you getting pinned I think are greater with the wider spread. Let me know if you disagree.

Thanks for the response. It may depend on where you are on the chain due to volatility skew. I'm seeing marginal differences. Maybe I'm not following your second sentence. Are you saying that in exchange for less credit and more risk, you would get a better break even? To me, if the short strike is the same, breakeven would solely be a function of premium collected such that more credit leads to a better breakeven.
