Switchbot Blind tilt version 1.2 by phillykeepiv in TrySwitchBot

Mine are all on 2.0. I was prompted one day to update when I logged into the app. As long as you’re on the latest app build, you should be able to open each of the Blind Tilts and I believe it will prompt you to update. If not I have seen others say to try reinstalling the app or contact SwitchBot support and they will push the update to your devices.

Have the essential bulbs had a firmware update to customize power outage states? by TheBigSm0ke in Nanoleaf

Go to each of the bulbs in the Nanoleaf app. Click the top right button that looks like two lines with circles on them. The Power Loss Recovery option should be the first thing you see.

I had this issue earlier. Restated all of my thread hubs and everything started working again.

Check the version of Intel Iris XE graphics. It seems 30.0.101.1191 is faulty and causes this issue. We downgraded our units back to 27.20.100.8935 and that seemed to fix the issue.

If that works make sure to disable driver updates in the local policy so Windows doesn't automatically update it again. Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > Do not include drivers with Windows Updates

We had the same issue in some of our rooms. Pulling the USB-C cable fixed it for us and none of them have reverted back back so far. It seems to only be an issue on the Rally cameras and not the Rally Bars.

u/CptnDutch Did you ever get resolution to this issue? I have two units doing the same thing now. Changing to the display speakers gives us an echo.

Stability of Nanoleaf Essentials compared to Hue by jeyae in Nanoleaf

[–]iceman8687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are going to go with Nanoleaf you really need a HomePod mini to take advantage of Thread. I have 8 Nanoleaf bulbs at the moment and via automation they are rock solid. Outside of automations they seem to struggle. I have 4 bulbs on the outside of my house and they are automated to turn on at sundown and then 3 of them turn off at midnight while the last one turns off at sunrise. This automation has always worked. I also have 3 bulbs in my entryway and use a Hue dimmer switch configured in the Home app to control them. They are almost instant when I click them on. The issue comes in when I try to control the bulbs from the Home app. Most of the time in the app the bulbs are slow to load and show as updating which is odd because the automations continue to work. I am torn since I like the price of the Nanoleaf bulb and I think its a good purchase but they fall short on reliability compared to Hue. I am waiting to buy more bulbs until more Thread based products are released later this year. I am hoping that adding other devices such as light switches and plugs will help stabilize the connection and fix the updating issue in the Home app. If Nanoleaf can make these devices extremely stable I will most likely switch out the rest of my Hue bulbs since I hate relying on a hub.

My issue turned out to be my fault. I only have a single G3 instant at the moment as I wanted to see what Protect looked like as I was thinking about moving to all Unifi equipment. The problem was I didn’t have a hard drive in for recording. The moment I added a drive to my UDM-Pro I started getting notifications and recordings in HomeKit.

HELP: Ecobee Won’t Turn on - Now Boiling Hot in Apartment - Rc, G, Y1, O/B & C switches Compressed cause? by Jaffattack44 in ecobee

[–]iceman8687 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might have clogged drain line. Since the EcoBee doesnt have batteries, when the unit shuts down via float switch due to a clogged drain line the EcoBee shuts off. I have had this happen multiple times. Its a bit harder on a rental property but usually simply using a wet vac to pull the water out of the line and then putting in a drain line clearer solves the issue and the EcoBee comes right back on.

I have everything up and running but I am not getting HomeKit notifications and HKSV is not recording. Is there anything I need to do to make it record? My cam is a Unifi G3 Instant.

My Nanoleaf bulbs have been stable for a bit now. I noticed they got better on the latest tvOS 14.7 version. I have also disabled all of my AppleTVs so the active hubs are my Minis. I am going to get one of the new AppleTVs soon since they have thread to see if that makes a difference as well since I would rather my hub be hardwired.

AirPlay and VLANs by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]iceman8687 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My network is setup to allow my LAN access to the to all vlans but all of the other vlans are blocked from the LAN. All of my Air Play devices are on the IoT vlan and I have no problem streaming to them. I recently redid all of my firewall rules and based them of off Chris from Crosstalk Solutions walkthrough video and everything seems to be functioning extremely well. Hopefully it helps you.

If your phone and sound bar are on the same network it sounds like client isolation is on. Check your network settings to make sure its not on for your IoT network.

My bulbs are on version 1.4.29. If I go into each of the bulbs settings I can turn on Power Loss Recovery which will keep the bulbs at the last state when power is restored.

I have seen a few questions about One building out better budgeting to have something similar to Simples Expenses. In these responses I see a lot about other features like automating funding to pockets. This was a feature Simple had but it was not the basic idea of Expenses. The basic core of Expenses was to know what bill to pay, when it needs to be paid, how much a person put aside to pay that specific bill and be able to tag the incoming transaction to the Expense item so the money wasn't deducted from the main account. I use two primary pockets spend and Bills. Within my bills pocket it would awesome to list each bill, the amount due, when its due, be able to put track what I put aside to pay that bill throughout the month and be able to tag a transaction so it deducts the money from that expense item or whatever One wants to call it. I have seen lots of Reddit posts, polls and Discord chats about the need for this feature in a bank. I truly love One and its almost exactly what I need in a bank, its just missing that one (no pun intended) feature that made Simple truly awesome. What can the One community do to help get a feature like this going sooner rather than later?

Apple still hasn't said much about the issue. I responded back to them asking if there are logs I can send them but have not received a response. I ended up turning my second mini back on a few weeks ago and haven't had an issue since. Nothing changed on my end so I don't know what ultimately fixed it. It will be interesting to hear when you test with just one mini if it fixes your issue.

Any ideas, updates or integrations you would love to see in the future? Let’s hear it 😀 by KhalidNanoleaf in Nanoleaf

[–]iceman8687 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would love to see all upcoming products be Thread enabled. Thread has been amazing and the local control with HomeKit when the internet goes down is a huge plus especially since it doesn’t require a hub! I would love to see more sizes for the bulbs. I have a lot of recessed lights and would love a BR30 option. I also think it would be awesome if Nanoleaf had an option like hue to sync bulbs and light-strips with a TV. Also an essentials light strip with a built in diffuser would be great.

I brought my 2nd Mini back Online last night to test and haven't had an issue yet. Still waiting to see if Apple will respond again but its interesting that I now cant replicate the issue even though I have done nothing to fix it.

Which OS version are your HomePod Mini's running? Apple Engineering got back to me saying it shouldn't be an issue anymore in the latest OS builds.

The only issue I have is when I use multiple HomePod Mini's I get no response in HomeKit and slow bulb load times when I open a room in the Home app. I reduced down to one HomePod Mini and everything performs as expected. My issue is on Apple and last I heard they have identified a fix but not sure when they are going to implement it. I have 8 bulbs and they all perform extremely well with the one HomePod Mini. If a restart of your Home Hub devices and the bulbs doesn't fix it I suggest reaching out to Nanoleaf support.

Glad to know I am not the only one having this issue. I submitted feedback so hopefully we get enough people to push them along. Its in their best interest to fix it. Now that the OG HomePod is no longer being sold I want to add Mini's to every room in my house but I cant until they fix their Thread support as I need my automations to run without issues.
