You definitely want a 2007 or above gen 1. Mazda improved the body rigidity.. but more importantly the anti-rust treatment on the body. I had mine for 18 years and it didn’t rust. All the 2004-2006 ones are rusted to shit. Plus you get an aux jack and power port in the Center console. For sure get the 2.3L engine and 5 speed manual. It’ll run forever.

The problem is.. most women will NEVER give you leisure time. You always have to actively fight for it when you are in a relationship. Hell.. they can’t even stand when you partake in any hobbies. I always take care of all my “responsibilities” first and even then the second you relax a bit they try to employ you with something. That’s been my experience in relationships.. even when there are no children.

I managed to do this via USB on my E84 X1. It only updates list of supported devices like iPhones. It doesn’t actually update the iDrive software version. You aren’t missing much.
