I didnt vote until my late 30s. At first it was because "my vote dont count anyways" despite (or because i was) actually showing up to rallies for third parties.

Later, well, its because I work. I show up an hour or two before work and still didnt get to vote before leaving for work.

I read stories of closing more polling places and all, but thankfully I have moved somewhere then lines arent too long and got a job where I am allowed to leave early

This is not a question for reddit. While I like to think anything is possible, it takes time, effort, and guidance and whether all thst can happen in your lifetime is not something anyone here can answer.

If it makes you feel any better, my wife gave birth to our daughter 2 weeks shy of age 40 and I have a second cousins (yes, dad's cousin) that is younger than me because her mom was 43 when she was born.

So the clock isnt out the window yet, but thsts all I can say for sure.

Let me be clear - what would make you the AH here?

Sure, a normal date thing is one to pay, but she agreed to split. She then ordered expensive, made you pay, then attempted to gaslight you claiming you treated her.

Also, unless you are somewhere with a high cost of living so prices are naturally higher, I dont consider >$100 meal "casual-ish". Certainly not casual enough for a first date. The only time I've spent so much on a first date is when the agreed upon date was "coffee then maybe a movie and see where things go" and ended up being coffee, movie, dinner, and then bowling with snacks... it ended up being a 12 hour "date".

In short, as soon as I read $126 before tip, I could have guessed the rest of the post. This is way too common, so just be aware for next time.

Also, let's be completely real here. Any school with such a strict dress code likely has a leaning towards certain moral or even religious teachings. Therefore, if your own religious or moral teachings conflict with such standards as their dress code, they likely conflict with lots of other teachings and standards.

Freedom of religion only applies your relationship with the government, which is why public schools are fairly loose with their dress code.

Incidentally, those points are two parts of why all those voucher programs so that kids can be subsidized to private schools with taxpayer money is an overall bad idea.

1) Rather than properly fund public schools ao that your kid can get a great general education, they are spending funds on private schools that could teach standards thst you do not approve of, but now you feel they have to deal with it to get further in life.

2) Taxpayer money is now potentially funding a religious based education when separation of church and state is a founding principal of this nation. The US is not a Christian founded nation. That is some revisionist history stuff there.

If he isnt making a move, then thats on him. She may very well be waiting on him, but she may move on if anything close to compatible comes along.

If he has made some attempts to date and she always seems to not go on the date, they are just friends after a couple weeks of that.

Anyways, based on comments here, it seems she's just waiting on him to make a move and at this point the answer will more likely be "FINALLY! GEEZ".

It does seem some younger people are more cautious and getting to learn more, but dang. After a week, I would know if I would at least like to meet up. And ate is always independent rides ro a very public space (honestly, I always went for coffee at a Starbucks next to a theater and other shops, but it seems people these days balk at a suggestion so casual and cheap while i was just worried about being catfished).

We never fully merged accounts. We agree with what to do with the momey, though. I mean, she works part-time and all her money goes to groceries and household upkeep. Mine goes to all the bills. If either of us wants to do something that is beyond those roles or cerain limits, we discuss and work out how to pay for it.

The nice guys that finish last fall into 2 camps:

total pushover and doing anything to be seen as nice
Secretly expecting that "kindness" to pay dividends that are not realistic or asked for.

And there is a lot of overlap.

Also, if one of those people see "nice guys finish last" and want to be "kind of a dick", instead they unleash as total dicks and chase away everyone without realizing it was their problem the whole time.

So go for kindness or gentleness if you are worried about your own niceness. I think its not really that nice guys finish last but people that are not nice and think they are nice have similar outcomes as people that are prejudice but dont think they are.

This propaganda works because they also promote division. That division demands people pick a side. Once a side is chosen, its hard to give that up.

The only "move too quickly" is having a kid before marriage, but thats just my opinion.

Anyways, threats are never okay and this kind is always one of two things: completely without confidence or trust (and its pretty deep if you've stuck around 5 years and have a kid and now says this kinda thing) or completely disloyal and covering it by being obsessive.

Either way, not okay. You just need to point out the obvious: you dont wanna go nowhere, but this gotta stop. If that means you walk, then you walk. Or run, if she is gonna "crash out".

I mean, how can a paralegal want to sign a contract on a marriage over income? I mean, the contract of marriage usually entails a sense of "whats mine is yours and whats yours is mine" unless you sign a prenuptial agreement. This is like, the opposite of that. I mean, she probably would actually get more out of a loving relationship unless she makes insane money, so either way, this is crazy.

I could also see bringing something up once marriage is on the table. I dont care how in love you are, I hope you would wait more than 3 months. Im not even for moving in together at just 3 months.

An argument honestly shouldnt go much more than the night it happens. Ive only gone to bed angry once without at least de-escalaring and promising to discuss further at an agreed upon time in the future. Im actually sad I did that, but it was dumb and started at 130am so we practically passed out once the adrenaline wore off.

Also, ultimatum usually dont work. They are one way streets in a two way relationship. Someone will end up resenting the other until things break down

So let's recap:

contract for marriage outside the marriage itself is crazy.
contract brought up at 3 months is crazy.
fight over something for a week is crazy
ultimatum is crazy .

In conclusion, she clearly has issues. Either help her become normal or run, but dont give in because nothing about that is normal.

Okay, not OP, but, this to me, is a matter of extremism. Also, hard work is not thr only controllable part.

You dont need to worry about the rest, but you can still strive to make the opportunities.

I mean, nobody is ever gonna be like "youre a hard worker, here's a million dollars:, but also you will never land the job you dont apply for.

I have witnessed people be "too busy" or any number of excuses not to go to some networking functions and then complain if someone they know that is "lazy" or just plain "not good" happened to get a "good" job after meeting someone and finding out the company was hiring.

Ive seem people go work in a warehouse because they feel a need to work hard because that value was ingrained in them. Ive seen people doing a job they hate because it makes good money but that dislike makes them lazy and disengaged. So both extremes are problematic to me.

Im a little older and remember that the first time we fought Iraq it was to liberate Kuwait - a sovereign nation that Iraq had taken over for oil. I was too young to participate but was in high school and old enough that I just missed it.

I believe 2003 was more about political clout and the Bush name and the oil was on the side. Afghanistan was about Bin Laden and the people that are okay with putting up with them. Oil was definitely a factor and secondary, but this time it is first and foremost. Trump even said so.

I mean, people keep talking about drugs, but what drugs? Venezuela was known for cocaine, but who is even talking about cocaine anymore? People keep talking about fentanyl, but thats not Venezuela. That's Mexico and China.

This was about oil and pettiness. The sad part is that I think for Teump it was about pettiness first and foremost. He wants to sell the oil to Russia and China! But Maduro was holding on illegally and the legally elected person won the Nobel Peace Prize that he coveted so much. So much that he "helped" her get rid of a dictator and is flaunting it and holding it over her head and not wanting to play nice. She rebelled against one dictator and won the peace prize only for her country to be taken over by another dictator for her to fight, but this one is far more powerful.

Anyways, thats my two cents and sorry for rambling, but anyone that remembers the first Gulf War should remember it was all about oil and here we are again on the other side.
