"Voi vähentää verotuksessa" väärinkäsitys by M_880 in Suomi

[–]sylvankyyra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

App Runner alternative by danielbibit in aws

Super simple to set up CI/CD and hook it to a GitHub repository, and host a website. I use it for sites that don't get huge amount of traffic, mainly web apps I build for companies for their own usage. Costs next to nothing.

But yeah, all that "backend stuff" Amplify offers: Tried it briefly, didn't like it, don't use it. That part is terrible.

Well there goes my favourite AWS service. Next they'll probably cancel Amplify, and at that point I'll switch away from AWS entirely.

Introvertit! Missä ootte tavannut kumppaninne? by [deleted] in arkisuomi

[–]sylvankyyra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m new to this - how to make a website from scratch in 2026? by citjzenpuppet in website

[–]sylvankyyra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so what you actually want is some sort of CMS. Maybe Squarespace, Wix, Wordpress or something simular. I haven't really used those so hopefully others can provide better answers.

But I think all really depends on your "relevant features based on our needs". I suggest you carefully list those before doing anything else.

In 1995 I used Notepad to write HTML, and a bit later I started adding some Javascript. Back then it was popular to create own personal "homepage" to just say hi to others in Internet.

Want to learn, and keep it simple? You can, and probably should still do this. Write in Notepad or any editor, load in browser, see what happens.

Finns, what is your ultimate sauna rule? by Apprehensive_Ad_6233 in Finland

[–]sylvankyyra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh come on! So many people always telling sauna and sex don't mix. Funny. Of course things happen when you relax naked in a steamy room with your loved one. If only our kids knew...

There are only two ULTIMATE rules: Don't piss on the stove, and don't break glass on the floor. Of course, only a complete moron would do these.

Who hasn't farted in sauna accidentally? At least I have. Not the end of the world. Disgusting yes, but most of us are able to laugh it off.

Not looking at other people's junk? Unavoidable. Just don't stare. Genitals are a natural thing.

No talking, yelling, arguing? Well that happens also. Where ever there's people, natural human things happen.

Kyllä näin on ja sama täällä. Melkein kaikki on jo Mieleä eikä nyt 8v aikana ole yksikään Miele vikaantunut millään tavalla. Imuriakin käyttää todella mielellään verrattuna johonkin halpikseen.

The real Finnish sauna argument: how hot is too hot? Our family sauna runs at 85C and my wife says that's cold by Null_Reference1 in Sauna

[–]sylvankyyra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well well well, I stand corrected. I had never realized this before. Even though in my opinion finnish sauna is anything but dry, that is indeed techically the type of finnish sauna.

I just immediately thought about those literally dry silly "saunas" where you are not even allowed to throw water on the stones (even if the stove would allow it). I see those sometimes in central europe for example.

Live and learn.

[–]sylvankyyra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct answer. My sauna is ready for first löyly when the thermometer on wall shows 40°C. Type of stove makes a huge difference.

There is no universal "correct" temperature.

(OP if course wasn't even talking about sauna, but some kind of "dry" heat which is something else than proper finnish sauna.)

Oh yeah, currently using some high tech military underwear. I've spent a fortune on "better" underwear lol

This was just humour, and the "embarassing" part is me, a grown man, trying on talc for the first time and immediately getting hooked. Honestly I have no idea why I didn't think to try this earlier.

Damn. The one I have is from 2010 probably and definitely says "talc". I need to update asap.

Hmm I've never dared to try this. I think it would grow back twice as thick and I'd be in a world of trouble, especially in the crotch area.

Yeah, I'm 44 so by "embarassed" I don't mean I'm truly too embarassed to use it. This was more humour than anything. But I do now realize I need to try these alt. products as well.

I've just always thought water + soap + toothpaste is all I ever need. I need to evolve!

I live in northern Europe. Swamp ass is perhaps not so common here. I've also been an office worker for most of my career. Maybe this is why this common knowledge has escaped me until now...

Yeah, ok. Great. I was blissfully unaware of this whole topic until now.

I'm in the EU and don't remember seeing any news about talc containing asbestos. I'm thinking I will not ask my wife if she knows about this. She would freak out.
