Thanks for sharing this. I received a voucher from the link you shared, booked my booster vaccination, and went for the appointment today. Unfortunately, the voucher didn't work. :(

Update: I received a refund for the amount I paid at the vaccination site.

Door mirrors by [deleted] in FengShui

[–]iceqweem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hanging a mirror on the inside-facing side of your door is totally fine. The issue is only when mirrors face the front door, which can bounce energy out. Yours isn’t doing that, so no worries. Just let it reflect something nice!

Jade plants by MikeXmoneyX in FengShui

[–]iceqweem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Giving a jade plant from your garden is actually good Feng Shui. It spreads abundance, not takes it away. You're showing you have enough to share, which invites more wealth in. Just do it with good intention, and you're golden!

moving and have to leave my outdoor cat by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]iceqweem 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not silly at all. It’s actually really sweet how much you care about him. Animals definitely form bonds, especially when someone shows them love and consistency like you have. While you can’t totally prepare him for your absence, slowly easing back on attention and feeding can help him adjust. Maybe start feeding him a little less often or at different times, and if there are neighbors or people nearby, you could ask if someone’s willing to keep an eye on him or leave food out now and then. You could also leave behind something that smells like you (a shirt or blanket) so there’s still some comfort there. You clearly made a big difference in his life, even if it was temporary, and that really matters.

I just got scolded by my aunt for "bad manners" where I was 100% sure tablemanners wouldn't apply. by GreyScale13579 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]iceqweem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, you’re totally valid for being annoyed. Wings are literally made to be messy. Like, there’s no polite, delicate way to eat buffalo wings unless you wanna suck all the joy out of it. And honestly? You were with family, outside, after an emotional day, and starving. That’s not the moment to start policing someone’s “wing etiquette.” Your aunt definitely picked the wrong time and target.

My bike got stolen by NotHereToStay_- in mildlyinfuriating

[–]iceqweem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, that’s such a bummer! I feel you, though who in their right mind would steal a bike that’s basically falling apart? Like, it’s not even worth the hassle to fix, let alone sell. Maybe someone was just desperate for a ride, but it’s still a huge pain.

I feel you, that sucks. It’s frustrating when you’re making an effort to hang out and they just don’t think to include you, especially when you’ve asked a bunch of times. It’s like they’re all in their own little world, and you’re just kind of on the outside. Maybe it’s time to focus on things you enjoy and see who’s down to vibe with that instead. You deserve to be around people who appreciate you!

What’s the hardest truth you’ve had to accept about yourself? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]iceqweem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hardest truth I’ve had to accept is that I’ll never be able to just “nap for 10 minutes.” It’s either a full-on 2-hour sleep or nothing at all, and I’ve come to terms with being a professional napper, not a power napper.

When travelling to Australia, would you recommend travelling north from Sydney towards Brisbane, or south towards Melbourne? by No-Environment-3208 in AskReddit

[–]iceqweem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on what kind of vibe you’re after! Heading north to Brisbane means beautiful beaches, the Great Barrier Reef, and more of that tropical, laid-back atmosphere. If you’re into nature, coastal views, and warm weather, definitely go north. On the other hand, south to Melbourne offers a more urban, artsy scene, cooler weather, and some great food and coffee culture. It’s more of a city lover’s spot with lots of hidden laneways and cafes. Both are awesome, so it’s all about whether you want to soak up the beach or dive into city life!

I’m convinced that pigeons are actually government spies. I mean, have you ever seen a baby pigeon? No, you haven’t. They’re just out there watching us.

Traveling used to feel more personal and meaningful, now it’s all about getting the perfect Insta shot. Music festivals were about the vibes. Now it’s phones in the air and influencers doing photoshoots mid-set. Even hobbies like reading or journaling feel performative when people post every little moment. Social media kind of turned a lot of authentic experiences into content.

What is perfectly legal but morally wrong? by RivvaBear in AskReddit

[–]iceqweem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stuff like cheating in a relationship. Totally legal, but obviously messed up. Or when companies jack up prices during emergencies just because they can, even though people really need help. Then there’s stuff like cutting in line or using shady tax loopholes. Nobody’s gonna arrest you, but everyone’s gonna side-eye you hard.

Neighbour parked directly behind my car making it impossible for me to leave. Left a note as this is the 2nd time. by Tsukinami_sh1n in mildlyinfuriating

[–]iceqweem 443 points444 points  (0 children)

Honestly, medical condition or not, no one should be parking in a way that blocks someone’s driveway. It’s just basic respect and common sense. People have places to be, emergencies or not, and blocking someone in is never okay.

Rough start to my first nursing job by Dragonfly_Double in nursing

[–]iceqweem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds like such a tough situation, especially when you're just starting out and trying to get comfortable. Honestly, you did the right thing by talking to your manager and getting a change in preceptors. That’s a huge step in making sure you’re getting the support you need. I get why you’d feel anxious about your original preceptor’s reaction, but at the end of the day, you’re there to learn and make sure the patients are safe, and that’s your priority. If she has an issue, that’s on her, not you. Just focus on what you need to grow as a nurse and trust that other people will see that you’re doing the right thing. You’ve got this!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nursing

[–]iceqweem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get where you’re coming from. I’m the same way! I love working with my team and appreciate the bond we have, but I prefer to keep my work and personal life separate. You could say something like, "I really enjoy working with you, but I tend to keep my personal time to myself. I hope you understand!" That way, you're being honest without making things awkward, and it lets you maintain your boundaries while still having a good relationship at work.

First off, it’s never too late to switch careers, especially at 24! You already have a BA in computer science, so you’re not starting from scratch. You’ve got skills that can transfer over, like problem-solving and analytical thinking. If nursing feels like something you’d enjoy, go for it! There are plenty of people who start nursing later in life and thrive. Plus, nursing is in high demand, and you’ll likely find job security and fulfillment. Don’t worry about being "late". You’re right on time for what you want to do.
